I used to be a fan of nicks and I've always tried to be somewhat conservative in my negative opinions of him, even when he was real bad I've always given him the benefit of the doubt on something. Under this read, Kayla really was the reason Nick found an audience at all. Kayla, not Nick, created the RekietaLaw persona. Without Kayla's influence, Nick would have just acted how he acts right now: an absolute unlikeable cunt with no appeal to anyone.

But the thing I find even more interesting is examining why Kayla created Nick's YouTube persona. Ultimately, I think she designed the RekietaLaw persona to be basically the model husband she wished she had. Instead of the presenting the licentious, porn-addicted lazy narcissist Nick Rekieta, Kayla's chosen RekietaLaw persona portrayed a humble, hardworking small-town family man, dedicated to God, his wife, and his children. The RekietaLaw persona comes straight from a low-budget Hallmark romance movie.

And Kayla's influence probably explains why Nick garnered such a strong wine-mom audience: it's pure middle-aged woman wish fulfillment. Kayla's wish for the husband she wanted Nick to be, but never was.
