The late psychiatrist-cum-neocon columnist Charles Krauthammer (d. 2017) coined the term "Bush Derangement Syndrome" in 2003 to describe "the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of George W. Bush".
"The Delusional Dean," Washington Post (archive)

I forgot about this. Thanks for posting this old article.

glass is easily recycled yes
but glass containers are thick and heavy which makes transporting them around in bulk expensive and inconvenient

the real winner is metal. both aluminium and steel are very easily recycled as well, and you can make a container of equivalent size with much lower mass / lighter weight (compare for example the weight of a glass bottle to that of an aluminium can)
and as an added bonus metal isn't brittle like glass so it doesn't shatter into a million razor-sharp shards when you drop it
Metal cans still need a plastic inner lining to keep the food/drink from leeching some of the metal into what you're trying to eat/drink.

Charles Krauthammer is a fun conversation grenade. Beyond that, his retelling of how he broke his spine diving into a swimming pool and laying at the bottom, unable to move is really interesting stuff.

Older pyrex, not the inferior stuff from the last 30 years.

Pyrex is heavy. There is a use case for plastic as much as there is for glass or metal. It all depends on your individual needs.
I said PYREX, not pyrex. The capitalism is used to distinguish between the old stuff that was made from borosilicate so with much thinner and lighter and durable compared to the new crap.

Granted the new crap is starting to get the capitalized brand.

The inconvenient truth is the only way to eliminate plastic containers is to buy food closer to the source, but that requires actual work. Health nuts are used to buying their way out of sacrifice.
Also, we've configured our energy industry to produce shitloads of plastics as a byproduct of their normal operation and refining of oil.
The real inconvenient truth is that plastic is incredibly cheap, we're not running out in any time frame of normal human concern, and it's just gonna get cheaper.

Despite claiming moments before that Republicans in Congress were “unified” behind his Big Beautiful Bill, U.S. President Donald J. Trump then attacked Republican Representative Thomas Massie for his decision to potentially vote NO on the megabill, which Massie claims will add $20 trillion to the U.S. National Debt by 2035; with President Trump stating, “I don’t think Thomas Massie understands government. I think he’s a grandstander - frankly. We don’t even talk to him much. I think he should be voted out of office.”

This one post is consistent, but I hate mixing metaphors. Zoro this, Aizen that.. just stick to one shonen please.
I'm still mentally preparing myself for the barrage of dipshits who'll spam how Trump is literally le ebil Valentine once the SBR anime starts. I don't think I'm ready.

Isn't another reason, carbonated drinks like Coke are acidic enough to eat away at the metal?

Good luck on this one. No way to avoid increasing deficit spending without slashing welfare. Welfare is 2/3 of the federal budget at this point. Trump is trying to gut the rest of the discretionary budget to moderately raise military spending to keep pace with inflation. All this while trying to cut taxes. There's no way to make this result in anything but more deficit spending.

Trump is trying to do something politicians haven't done since Clinton: actually fix the Debt. To do that will require more than cutting. We must cut as well as build industry at the same time. It's a math problem that is more than subtraction. You must invest. That also means the debt becomes smaller, because America now has more assets in comparison.

I will forever believe he found out about his cancer before the 2024 season started, and the DNC learned about it just after the debate. That explains everything.
Biden didn't spend over 1/3rd of his entire presidency on vacation because he just found out he was sick in 2024.

Cancer doesn't deserve Joe Biden.

And the apparent validation of the diary’s accuracy as held by the conviction of the girl who stole and sold it
She didn't steal it. It was found abandoned at the halfway house where Ashley was recovering from the heroin addiction she developed to deal with her fucked up childhood.

Then pay the fucking policey wonks to find the most popular points of trumps platform and fucking steal them.
But then people might actually expect them to make the country better which they don't want to do they just want America to be an economic zone depot scrambled over by their varying foreign masters.

I dont think it'll happen since sbr is more morally grey and valentine is actually far more sympathetic explicitly than the crippled freak pervert protagonist. It's like if Alan Moore said outright that rorschach was flawed but fuck ozy he's a bitch ass nigga and agreed with the chuds.

Tldr you're either safe or you get to drop the "media literacy" anvil on their heads

I respect that Massie hates AIPAC, but he's also a grandstander as Trump said.
