If you question why they enable him killing himself or in general just behaving like a fucked up deviant, he gets hella defensive. So yeah, there's a 110% chance they're buying him shitty foods because they feel bad for his sad life or they just plain don't know better. If you watch the aforementioned My 600 Lb Life, you'll really understand the mentality behind a lot of enablers to this sort of behavior.
People don't get to be above 300 pounds without everyone else around them caving and becoming puppets to their whims. In the case of close relatives like that, it's either a matter of pure ignorance or a desire to be "needed" by the fatty. Some people with insecurity issues feel that the only way the fat person will ever care about them is if they're trapped and needing constant medical care by them. It's devious and fucked up. I don't know or really think it's that way with this guy, I just think his relatives toss him unhealthy food so he'll stop crying and leave them alone.
Genius! Every now and then, I stumble across My 600 Lb Life on TLC and I start thinking of devious ways to make these people move. What it always comes down to is that they didn't get that way on their own. If you're bedridden because you eat too much, someone is bringing you food. Behind every morbidly obese person is an enabler.
