And Doug would make two more of them.
Honestly? The anniversary movies are pretty rewatchable, They have this backyard friends with a film camera wanting to have fun making a film with no budget vibe to them. I don't care if what was written in the Change the Channel doc sayin "Doug forced us out in that dessert in front of that guys house and it was hot wahhh!!!!". Like if you see the movie you can easily tell that wasn't entirely true. The anniversary movies feel like products of a more inocent time with a long gone group of friends you remember from years past.

Even if Doug did force them out into the middle of nowhere, good, Linkara needs the exercise. This makes Doug extra based.

Also, as people have pointed out, in the behind the scenes video of Suburban Knights, Doug was going to call it off because of the weather and stuff going wrong, but literally everyone begged him to keep it going and how happy and willing they were to keep filming.

@24:25

It was only later that they tried to pull that bullshit about being “forced”.

All that has to be said is this:

Fuck the Not So Awesome document

Fuck the 4Chan greentexts about Kickassia (which may not even be true to begin with).

A good chunk of it was also crying about various aspects of unprofessionalism compared with real movie sets. Not saying there weren't apparent struggles in production, but these were youtube movies for crying out loud. Tell your friend and help out if you notice this amateur production is missing things you are more aware of. And tbh, things like catering are better on some sets now, but I have heard plenty of professional horror stories so they can't pretend the bar should have been seriously higher.

They came from LordKat. Who was a notorious faggot who instead of becoming a world famous gaming journalist (because Spoony shouted something at a con), shat his pants and did nothing. Also he trooned out.

I’d also add that Lindsay claimed that Doug completely ignored advice from those you mentioned who went to film school or worked on film sets in the past. Even claiming that Doug had to be TOLD that having water on set was a common thing, only to have the advice be heeded when Spoony echoed the sentiment.

If they were Complaining about the Doug Walker sets, I have to wonder what kind of sets these folks were on.

What was that about pants shitting?

Also, LK’s description would fit the claim that they came from “somebody who worked on the camera crew that was hired and was shocked at how amateur everything was”.

Not to mention, LK confirmed the texts were legit, then apparently said the veracity couldn’t be confirmed and the only reason it was confirmed was because LK would give support/endorsement to anything that was seeming to make Doug and Channel Awesome look bad, because of hating how everything was being run.

Problem is that she wasn't talking about water, she talked about coffee for several times, with Doug saying how they shouldn't be drinking coffee in the hot desert, until Doug and the others asked her "Girl, what ya talking about?!" and Spoony explained she meant craft service table stuff. The bitch couldn't even bother to properly communicate her thoughts.

It’s an old Chis-Chan reference. He never actually shat his pants, just was horribly bitter that a case of mistaken identity apparently ruined his entire career. But still he never actually tried to achieve anything past that.

He always had that loathsome New York attitude of being an annoying asshole to “make it”. Other cities have it, but the East Coast is ripe with it.

But a broken clock is right twice a day, and what he has said about TGWTG seems to be fairly accurate

Stargate Sg1 is peak TV and I will fight anyone who say otherwise.
SG-1 was basically perfectly cast (except for RDA, who never really clicked for me.) Watching Atlantis try to do the same thing without them is like listening to a Kidz Bop cover of Rush.

Remember how the original Stargate movie got its own video game license?

Say what you want about Doug Walker. He has a better understanding of meme culture and didn't shill shit like Star Wars acolytes to own the chuds. Mind you Doug Walker politically is no conservative. Unlike modern red letter media. The last wheel of the worst was the most boring video RLM done in years. All the red letter media does now is bitch about bad movie going experiences and people not going to the movies. Now they are bitching about zoomers going to see the minecraft movie and the chicken jockey meme getting people to return to movie theaters. Channel awesome finally surpassed Red Letter Media. Sick of pretending otherwise.

Kickassia is actually a fun little movie. I try to watch it once a year. Fun little tradition

You know what? I can see where you are coming from. Mike and his gang and Doug have had very different pholosophies and actions even though they have done similar things, but i feel Doug's more humble and just a pretty normal guy when you consider it wins me more than Mike and Jay's cynical and stagnant perspectives. And Doug had several moments where his ego got a reality check (Demo Reel, Pop Quiz Hotshot, Wall Review, etc.) and made him realize how glad he is to have a really passionate fanbase. I am not very knowledgeable on RLM but i barely remember them just not hiding under their mask of irony and being sincere without suddenly trying to mud it with something negative they found (or maybe it's all a result of living in Milwaukee). One moment i remember that really left me with a bad taste in my mouth was their Hitb of Nosferatu where Mike brought up some silly user reviews and it came off a bit elitistic.
A part of me wonders what would happen if they somehow met and decided to do a collab, just to see how they would interact with each other.
I don't know where i am going with this. I guess i wanted to get it off my chest. Don't get me wrong i still enjoy watching them and Doug, but Half In The Bag is so damn boring with Mike bringing up the death of movie theaters for the 84th time and not really saying anything interesting.
