Maybe they were once close friends, and then gradually became more and more distant, quietly losing favor with each other without ever voicing it since there was never a reason to. Now that's there's different cliques and sides to choose, the pressure to voice who and what they stand for is on. Maybe Ethan felt particularly vindictive for his family getting dragged in, and saw Ian as someone who could've easily stuck up for them, with Ian being a public online figure who actually visited the household before.

I think Ethan should be the one to nail the coffin by simply stop adressing Ian, he's a nobody now, Creator Clash was the biggest thing he had and he ruined it (long ago but he's now trying to play it off as if Ethan is to blame of course), and it's clear he's not gonna be making good Content Cops if that what he'll try to focus on now, it's obvious Hasan and his goons don't even like him, it's like a nerdy kid licking the boots of the popular ones in high school in hopes they'll let him into the friend group. Ian definitively had many chances to change his mind. Due to the CPS call, I think it is safe to argue that Ethan called all his friends many times and asked them to back him up. The safety of his kids was in line this time and Ian backstabbed him. Even if Ian took his time, I am sure Ethan would have forgiven him. Instead, Cuckboy did a hitpiece on him. A bad one at that. He is done with Ian now.
 
I would bet that if Ian was not with Anisa, then at worst Ian would just not comment on this drama at all let alone make any videos about it.

Make no mistakes about it: Anisa is the one who manifested that Content Cop. The second her name came out of Ethan's mouth, she raged at Ian to make a video. I guaran-fucking-tee it. She probably "cried" all night long at Ian until he broke and agreed to make the video.
