That's the whole point.

Chances are they had shares in the event based on the promotion expertise and audience they (supposedly) had. Most of it was held by the organizers.

It's actually not that uncommon to give equity shares to celebrities instead of hiring them. It improves cash flow and can somewhat offset risk, assuming you actually choose good partners.

Now the problem is that they don't know shit about event promotion or marketing, and what is left of their audience hates them. So they relinquished their shares because they could not fulfill their part of the agreement.

It could also be there was a reputation clause they breached.

Either way, they were probably never the people actually running things.

No, there is no api for dislikes anymore.
The browser addon counts the thumbs up/ down only from the people who have the extension installed, and then uses some algorithm to extrapolate the total number of likes/ dislikes, based on the video's total views.

That worked only shortly after they removed the dislikes but then they removed it from the API as well.
Now it just extrapolates the ratio from the addon users. So if a video has 1000 likes and 100 addon users went 50/50 on likes/dislikes the addon will show 1000 dislikes regardless of what the actual ratio is.(bit simplified but you get the gist)
 
I don't think "The Raped" covers it anymore. I didn't think it was possible to surpass that ignoble status, but Ian continues to plumb the depths, or have his depths plumbed.

In honour of that ability to keep on taking it, I propose to christen him "The Gaped".
