Just speaking for myself, but from what I've seen people troon out in an attempt to escape the realities of their life and "reinvent themselves", its an escape fantasy, and considering how hellish ians life is, it isn't impossible. Of course there are also people who do so because of childhood trauma, sex fantasies, groomed to be so, mental illness, or just because etc. I'm not gonna claim to be an expert on this, but I will say that in my experience there always seems to be a reason. It's quite sad, especially considering its a highway to suicide and the current culture has normalized it.
