For example, the only parts of an iPhone made in China are the case and battery.

The case can be easily made by any machine shop with a CNC mill; Apple famously bought Foxconn their mills because they didn't have any.

There are competitive American manufacturers of batteries, with the most famous being Tesla.

The chip is made in Taiwan.
The camera is made in Japan.
The screen is made in South Korea.
The RAM is made in the United States.
The SSD is made in Japan.
The glass is made in United States.
The modem is made in either South Korea or Taiwan (newer ones have an Apple-designed modem made by TSMC).

Apple could easily make the iPhone in the US but Tim Cook wasted a trillion dollars building factories in China and the sunk cost fallacy has been keeping them there.
Official US policy is that Taiwan is China. Been that way for decades.

This is something I wish I could print out and staple to the face of so many fucking retards. "made in china" mean "assembled in china". They're extremly low on the value added scale.

Noooo we have to outsource our mining to a country that will strip mine and ruin the entire environment instead of doing it as clean as we would.
And don't forget the minefield of the Navajo and Hopi lands and Uranium. Did they get fucked over during the cold war? Absolutely. But now, even with better mining methods and production and no matter how closely we tried to work with them and actually educate the workers this time there would still be maximum grifting beyond what's already happened since the 90s and white/ 1/128th Navaho eco fags

To the ActBlue wagies trying to astroturf. The use of “kek” is a dead giveaway. That shit was 2014.
Truth. All bot impersonators and would-be influencers, the new "official" vernacular accepted by 4chan culture as acceptable "how do you do fellow kids?" identification is "I suck cock." Begin and end all posts with this ironically self-deprecating phrase to be recognized as an Actual, Official Anon. And don't forget to re-up your 4chan passes.

True except I'd argue it's not even about showing submission, they don't even really understand the concept of "submission" because they don't grasp concept of one person being forcefully in charge, whether it's them or not. That is alien to them. It's all about consensus, fitting in with the group, not having anyone think badly of you. Their memes all look like this:

Oh wow, an Occupy Democrats post. That takes me back, although I forget what particular type of brown it is that runs that account. It really is a good example how the nonsensical screeching hasn't changed since 2016.

Now that electronics are exempt from Trump's China Tariffs. Are you officially ready to just admit Trump does' t have a plan there is no art of the deal there is no 5d chess. China gave Trump nothing in exchange for this he just looks weak and desperate.

Some say this was in response to concerns of anticipated consumer goods going up, but wasn't the point of the tarrifs to sacrifice for a greater tomorow ?

Some say it's because tech companies complained, wasn't the point of the tariffs to stick it to the ruthless tech elite who are "fucking" the working man ?

And that is absolutely a fair take. I too would prefer to buy European products, when they are available and especially for a reasonable price. The collective problem for all of the west is that we have sold our soul for the Chinese to improve our lives, to the point that we are now dependant on that nation. A nation run by authoritarians, communists (though in name only), who are no doubt eyeing global domination at some point.

The idea of bringing back production and manufacturing from China to the US and Europe is something we should strive towards. I merely disagree with the way Trump is doing it, because I don't see how it really going to produce results. Instead, it just makes us all poorer.

And the problem is, the way he's trying to change stuff is most likely not going to work. The only way for it to work, is for America is going to be set on Trump-aligned Republican dictatorship for the next few decades. What are the odds on that?

So instead, he's merely doing you (and everyone else) damage, that is most likely going to be reverted when the Democrats are going to be in power in 4 years if this keeps up. Or even if they won't be, Republicans who are not liking this current trend.

We are talking about setting up a trend for the next half a century. This is not the way to do it.
THEN HOW WOULD YOU DO IT YOU FUCKING HUN-NIGGER? YOU SAID YLU WANT RESHORING, BUT NOT THE TRUMP WAY- IF NOT TARIFFS, THEN WHAT?

Official US policy is that Taiwan is China. Been that way for decades.

Not quite. We pull a very sneaky trick in regards to this to basically keep China happy. The official phrasing is.

The United States acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China.

Basically we acknowledge that both sides claim to be the real China, but we don't say we think that ourselves. Just that we know THEY think it.

Bro we went over this a page ago. But you're a Wumao going for those quarters, so reading comprehension is 0%

Even though you're obviously not acting in good faith, I'll give you a serious answer anyway.
Literally everything in the world runs on computers. They're right behind water and oil in terms of what keeps modern society functioning.
For as much fun as it is to meme about Apple fanboys having to shell out twice as much for their goyslop products, a price hike on electronics that severe in such a short timeframe without giving a cool-off period to allow manufacturing to make its way back to America is how you trigger a recession so bad that you lose both the midterms and 2028 because no one will care about the long-term plan when they can't run their businesses due to lack of electronic access.
I already addressed the fact that literally all other tariffs remain unchanged and how little electronics actually impact Chinese exports in an earlier response, so it's not my fault if you can't read.
In short, so he did have to walk back some of his tariffs, this is what I have been saying, the orange man almost tanked the economy over this, do you see why throwing around tariffs with little to no foresight is bad?, and you fuckers defended him for this?
He walked back the tariff on electronics. Do you know who stands to gain the most from that? Taiwan. For every dollar China makes assembling and shipping an IPhone, Taiwan makes $15 for producing the parts. Taiwan and Trump have been doing a lot of negotiations and this change is more of a favor for Taiwan than China.
hold on, isn't he also putting tariffs on Taiwan too?, what's goin on there anyway

Look at this, the supply chain for just the iPhone involves a lot of different countries and companies working in tandem with each other to make sure this all works out in the end, there are countless other products with complicated supply chains as well and then King Orange over here said fuck it lets disrupt all of it because muh trade deficit

it isn't just me who realizes who how pants on retarded he got over this right?, something in me still believes you all supported this only because Trump was doing it, and not because you all genuinely believed that what he did was the right course to take.

And Japan, SK, and Taiwan are all playing ball with the negotiations, so this exemption is starting to make more sense. Still sucks we need to rely on China for assembly, but hopefully part of the negotiations is moving assembly out of China.

Got paused, like with a lot of other countries willing to negotiate.

Taiwan, all the China, none of the communism.

This whole situation is stupid and dangerous at the same time, you see, Taiwan, officially called the Republic of China, still claims the whole of mainland China as part of their territory, and its been that way since the end of the Chinese Civil War to today, China maintains that the island is simply in rebellion as part of the One-China policy, and they will unify...eventually at some point in the future, if Taiwan ever declares independence, that means that the policy is broken and that only means active war according to official doctrine.

We don't know if they'll actually do that, but Taiwan prefers to not have the possibility of total war on their island, so, for now, the status quo is maintained

Official US policy is that Taiwan is China. Been that way for decades.

Check this shit out, Apple Maps bro

First we have to check the calibration, make sure this baby is accurate

IMG_7817.jpeg

GULF OF AMERICA FUCK YEAH BABY WOOOO
Ok so it’s accurate

IMG_7814.jpeg

I was looking at Freedom China (that’s what we’re going to name Taiwan) and I noticed something weird, like extra islands, and I was like “are those some of those Chinese fake islands?”

Enhance

IMG_7815.jpeg

What the shit is that!?

IMG_7816.jpeg
Oh, it’s more Freedom China

Not Fagdom China

My take is we recognize one China sure sure, but maybe we mean Freedom China

On 4chan too... This is insane. Someone running a lotta bot accounts really doesn't care if they're found out anymore. That or this is a really BIG blunder.
This is pretty worrying, these people are just reposting the same message over and over, with no attempts to debate or write a coherant response.
Twitter monetization based on 'engagement' alone has led to a industry of South Asian (Indian) bot farms that do nothing but reply to each other and copy most-liked replied around popular accounts.

Thrifty democrats can't afford Correct the Record humans anymore and are just employing those bot farms, which is enough to fool the algos but is obvious to anyone reading for content.
