I imagine that a Chinese engineer can afford to work for nothing, since he was probably trained for free at some diploma mill. I don't think anyone should expect that though. Free Ching Chong engineering is not a human right.
I promise, nobody is pulling out a calculator in this situation. The only engineering chinkland does is reverse engineering

It’s funny, because these lies are the same that got the suits in the front office to start exploring trade with China thirty years ago. Each time, the midwit with the bachelors in business who thought understanding manufacturing and engineering was beneath them believed that they had found a golden egg laying goose and would be wreathed in laurels for it

You assume he has training. He likely doesn't. He is using the niggerboxes as his practice. This is not uncommon even in the west for newbies, but in the east... I cannot begin to imagine how rampant it is as a practice.
He’ll be dumbfounded when his customers complain about a weak weld breaking.
I can see it now. Guy was using the box for a few months, and suddenly, the door falls off at the welds. Porosity was found at the break point. A very green mistake, but not uncommon if you're getting paid pennies and don't understand what you're doing

No wall, no deportations and now no tariffs. But hey still sending billions of dollars to Israel and more American troops to watch over the genocide going on there.

Blormpf also nominated another kike as some 'UN antisemitism guard' thing. I think I'm tired of all this winning.
>calling gaza a genocide
>"blormpf"
>Blatant lies
>"i'm so tired of all this winning"

It's probably about time for you to go back. Reddit or /pol/ is fine, just not here.

Say it ain't so.
What's the point of all this then... so my kids can work in fucking coal mines?
More info here.

I feel so deflated. I guess we gotta take shit day by day. We can't just go doomer because the media is saying one thing but shit changes tomorrow.
America could never become a manufacturing powerhouse overnight. It takes a long time for that shit to pop up.
i still wanna see total ccp death.

Update (1255ET): As Trump adviser Stephen Miller points out, the products are still "subject to the tariff under the original IEEPA on China of 20 percent."

Washington Post: maybe your reporters should try reading before posting. These products are subject to the tariff under the original IEEPA on China of 20 percent. https://t.co/MI4oDEb8S3
— Stephen Miller (@StephenM) April 12, 2025
The White House issued a further clarifying statement that the exemption (from the higher tariffs only) will be retroative to April 5th and all duties received since then will be refunded

Any duties that were collected at or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on April 5, 2025, pursuant to Executive Order 14257 and the Subsequent Orders, on imports that are excepted under Executive Order 14257 and the Subsequent Orders because they are “semiconductors,” as explained in this memorandum, shall be refunded in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s standard procedures for such refunds.

Did you actually read what I said? Yeah, I know that this guy is a dumbass for thinking he can just send some 3d CAD-designs for a shop and expect them to make it. But the thing is, those Chinese shops will actually take in that work. They have their own engineers do all the engineering based on that simple CAD file, and then manufacture it. For 1/5th of the cost.
As a machinist I'm going to wager that they can do it because they fully intend to improvise unless you communicate with them. That +0/-0.001 tolerance is now +/- 0.010 and that 16ra finish is now a knurl. And the stuff that's physically impossible to make have extremely creative solutions that compromise the structure of the part.

And if your answer to this is going to be "well, those people deserve to have their business go bankrupt", fine. How the posts have shifted from all the talk about how these tariffs will create more American jobs.

The answer is that people who built their wealth on cheap imports are vastly outnumbered by people who need actual jobs. Also, you claimed that not being able to outsource 3D CAD fabrication to China will destroy the middle class. I cannot begin to imagine what sort of weird little bubble you live in if you think the average American household makes most of their income by selling things they ordered from China.

20% is still plenty. I think it’s like saying “alright we can’t actually fulfill capacity on all the phones being built, 20% will encourage Taiwan to reshore Foxconn or maybe move part of it to Vietnam”

And don’t act like it wouldn’t be a massive improvement just to see something like the 11% of US gdp being manufacturing grow to 15%, then 20%.

Lets just narrow the fucking trade deficit and don’t let your diaper overflow

By middle-class, I'm talking about your standard small American businesses that are dependent on foreign (especially Chinese) imported stuff. And no, most of them cannot simply "buy American" instead, because the stuff isn't even made in America.

There was a pretty good video published by some American business owner about why this stuff sucks. TL;DW: if you want to buy a similar product in America, you are going to pay at least 5 times more, and the product is still much worse quality than stuff made in China. And this is if you can even get said product, because most American businesses simply turned him down.

I'm not sure who this guy is but he's a retard. I genuinely don't know if this is the my dad's company situation or if he is a low level dipshit but he has literally zero understanding of manufacturing.

Every step he took was wrong and he complains about ridiculous things like "they asked how many we need." Yea no shit retard the VAST majority of the expense in production is setting up the process and tooling.

This might be breaking news but we have to rebuild our manufacturing sector and those businesses are getting thousands of calls a day. How can he run a business without a basic concept of supply and demand? Wild that anyone could think this guy makes good points.

Shit bro, you got any recommendations to read about that? I take a decent amount of those and I'd hate to become retarded.
Nothing specific I can point you to but if you want to do some digging you'll want to start looking at anti-cholinergic drugs and their effects. Afaik all the gen 1 anti-histamaines (including diphenhydramine and doxylamine which are the ones the average person is likely get their hands on, the rest you can get but if you want them but you have to special order them through a pharmacist, generally no prescription required) have anti-cholinergic effects once they slip past the blood brain barrier

They disrupt the function of acetylcholine which isn't even a lizard-brain neurotransmitter, it's closer to a proto-fish-brain neurotransmitter. That's the reason people tripping on benadryl start seeing spiders and shadow people and the hat man. They're disrupting something so primal that it goes back to the point where eyes could barely process shadows, let alone piece together shapes and colors

Current dementia meds have pro-cholinergic effects, so somewhere in that pathway something happens regarding dementia

I don't think they're dangerous to take occasionally, like if you get a runny nose during pollen season and that makes it hard to sleep by all means take some benadryl or doxylamine, but I'd at least move on to a gen 2 like cetirizine or loratadine for frequent use since they have a much harder time penetrating the blood-brain barrier (cetirizine is generally cheaper and I can't tell a difference between them at all, vs the gen 1s are all very different for me).

Personally I do feel more alert after almost completely cutting Gen 1s out unless I really need them. Their anti-histamine properties might only last 4-6 hours but the anti-cholinergic hangover definitely lingers for 8-12 for me

My main concern is that buying American weapons for our military is going to be a shit ton more expensive now. And European alternatives are not there yet.
!!!!!!

Do you think we have fucking China make missiles and shit!?

Half the manufacturing jobs in my state are like BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon etc etc

BAE has three or four different plants in neighboring towns

If China made our weapons, I would literally give up on being American and beg Poland to repatriate me based on my grandma being Polish
