>Must pass a knowledge and safety test

I love these so much, because they're always implemented by people who imagine it filtering out white hillbillies and rednecks. But in truth those people could teach those classes with their eyes close and pass them no problems. The ones who get filtered out are darker than the average /pol/ poster.

It's not the test that's the issue, it's the fees and shit. It's making it as cumbersome as possible to own a gun.

It's a funny statement. All the green numbers on the scrolling stock market bar are a nice touch. My favorite part is this:

"We Chinese, we just ignore you silly Americans and your tariffs next time" yeah okay Xi you've been doing a great job so far. Can't wait to see what the reciprocal tariff is going to be this time. I'm hoping 1000% minimum.
Not going to retaliate further?

Cinco de Mayo parade in Little Village canceled due to fear of immigration raids: 'People are afraid'

The annual Cinco de Mayo parade has been canceled, organizers announced Thursday.

The parade, which typically attracts hundreds to the Southwest Side, commemorates Mexico’s victory over Napoleon III’s French army in the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

However, the celebration was canceled because of fears over the Trump administration’s immigration policies, said Hector Escobar, president of Casa Puebla and the Cermak Road Chamber of Commerce.

“There is nothing to celebrate,” Escobar told the Sun-Times. “People are afraid. They’re afraid to even go to work.”

Escobar said organizers hope to host the parade next year, but not if President Donald Trump’s immigration policies don’t change.

“Our community is very frightened because of the raids and the threat that ICE has imposed on the families that work tirelessly to provide a better future for their kids,” organizers said in a statement.

Days after Trump took office in January, federal agents, with top administration officials and right-wing media personality Dr. Phil McGraw in tow, arrived in Chicago for a series of targeted immigration arrests to fulfill the president’s promise to arrest and deport immigrants living in the country without legal status.

Trump has claimed they are targeting dangerous criminals, but attorneys working with detainees, and a review of known cases, show many of those arrested did not have criminal records.

Escobar said he had already spoken to Chicago police about the necessary safety measures to host the parade. However, that would not ensure protection from possible immigration raids.

“It was a difficult decision to make, but the safety of our community is more important,” he said.

Last year, the parade was rerouted and cut short after shots were fired along the parade route, resulting in multiple arrests. It also was not held from 2018 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Editor’s Note: This article was updated to correct that it was Napoleon III’s army that was defeated in the Battle of Puebla.

In 1994, a Democrat-controlled congress pushed through The Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, more commonly known as the Assult Weapons Ban. Later that year, in the 1994 elections, Republicans gained 8 seats in the Senate and 54 seats in the House, resulting in a unified control of Congress.

I remember later reading that Clinton had said that pushing the Assult Weapon Ban through was a mistake in retropsective, and was part of what galvanized the country against Democrats and cost them control of congress. I wish I could find that article again.

I'll take all the :optimistic: I deserve for this statement, but I can only hope the same happens in Colorado. If this law survives legal challenges or other attempts to remove it, Democrats will use their success in Colorado as a template to destroy gun rights in other states, one by one, until they are weakened enough across the country to attempt again at the federal level and succeed.

Hopefully this gets overturned so I can see that fat faggot New Yorker Tom Sullivan get pushed to tears. "WAH WAH MY SON DIED" isn't an excuse to tyrannize others. Fuck you.
I almost wish I lived in Colorado, or had business that took me there so I could have the opportunity to tell him he spits upon the memory of his son by targeting gun rights, and his son would be ashamed of him. That would probably get me punched in the face, but it would be worth it.

I'm asking now, what if you're wrong in the root cause? There are a lot more people now than even in 1940. High population growth and better medical standards means even ridiculously young preemies have a chance of not dying. My point is nature and medicine have diverged. More people are living, more chances for errors.
To be clear I'm not saying I'm 100% right I'm saying we have enough lines of evidence to investigate it.

Personally, I wouldn't even focus on autism as a primary outcome. Partially because funding such studies would be expensive and time consuming.
I
nstead, I would highlight maternal health as a national priority and push non-pharma interventions for normalizing metabolic health.

If successful and maternal health improves, then next would be tracking rates of newly diagnosed autism resulting from healthier moms. This is already done so there's no additional expense here.

If rates hold steady, I'm wrong.

If rates decrease significantly, but rates are still high I'm partially right but there's other things contributing. Still a positive because it's situation one but some improvement and better understanding.

If rates plummet, we're on the right track and see what's left to address plus a healthier nation.

In the end it doesn't matter if I'm wrong if the focus is an overall good in itself. Decreased rates of genuine crippling autism would be a potential side effect, not the main focus. At worst you have healthier moms and can rule out one focus of study.

But none of this matters if instead the focus is put on some tiny aspect like red dye 40 instead of the larger scope, so I'm admittedly not that optimistic.

I've mostly seen from RFK Jr minor focuses on a very big problem. Fluoride, artificial dyes, items eligible for SNAP. All of these things are probably good, I'm not dooming here, but whether it could have a big enough impact to get answers to this question? I don't think those are enough alone.

Anyway some random round up stuff.
Some prayer before a press briefing.

A bird landed on doocy's head while he was in front of the Whitehouse on live TV. I could swear there was discussion about bird omens in the past thread...

Additionally, highlighting this weird exchange. Wired made a claim that was immediately rebuked. Do they even bother trying to verify the shit their "sources" pull out of their asshole?

All this talk about China is vaguely reminding me of the Chinese embassy/consulate in Houston (?) openly burning documents in their courtyard when the BLM riots were at their height.

Did Texas even investigate what documents they were burning or did Biden sweep it under the rug?
So that’s why the place was abandoned.

Ok American kiwis.....what the fuck is wrong with you niggas.
I pray to God it a damn illegal.
I like you all...but you guys get wildest bullshit known to man.
How the fuck you do THAT to a CORPSE on the SUBWAY.

You talk big but who among us hasn't been there? You're on the subway in the morning, and there's a male corpse just sitting there, its mouth hanging open all seductively, drooling out sexy cadaver fluids.... sorry we don't all share your sky-high moral standards.

Colorado is my home state. There has been a demographic shift. Liberals have moved in for 20 years now. The weed shit didn't help, but it started with Republicans trying to attract buisness from liberal states. It has been a fucking disaster.

Colorado only hasn't decended into complete anarchy because there's still money there and oil. I doubt this will affect the elections much. Anyone that wants a gun has one already. The courts are going to have to solve this, which means the 10th circuit and that Muscovite judge.

I am at the point where I believe that these people deserve complete emotional torture, even if they had some sort of traumatic event in their life that made them think the way they do. They are enemies and should be treated as such.
