Can someone explain to me the whole "INSIDER TRADING!!!" cope I'm seeing from butthurt panicans who lost all their funko pop money? I don't even understand their theory of what he did wrong. As far as I understand insider trading is trading based off of non public knowledge, or giving that knowledge to someone else for the purpose of them trading on it. Doesn't announcing something on twitter make it public? Like the exact fucking opposite of "insider"? Literally any human being with access to the internet had the ability to read the President's tweet and act or not act accordingly. I know at this point the 26%ers are just rabidly reflexively foaming at the mouth and tourettesing out that every single thing he does is illegal, but this one is so dumb I can't even see any underlying argument.
If I had to guess, they're probably accusing people close to Trump being told that he's going to do a tariff and fuck the market so they can make money via short sales or buying a dip that's just about to go up. I haven't heard anything about it though, but I haven't been paying much attention so far.

Fuck yeah.

Dip buyers represent with a :agree:
I don't play with stocks.

I do have a brokerage fund my mom set up decades ago that I really just observe, never touch. Dropped almost a grand at the start of the hysterics, rose back up to its old value today.

Such is life.

Anyone think Trump delayed the tariffs just to give them a taste of what'll happen if they don't play ball. I mean they weren't even active and he almost crashed the entire world economy with just the threat of it.

Rassie has come out and given a warning to the Republicans

His polls are showing limited support for Vance as so far he only beats the generic Dem potential candidate Steven Smith by 4% in a 2028 match up. He fairs a little better over Harris but not by enough to be assure a win. While Rassie says this may change over the next few years as of right now Vance is seen as a more Republican then a MAGA candidate.

It boils down to "American's don't trust the Republican Party anymore that's why the GOP loses whenever it's not a MAGA candidate"

So unless Trump can turn the GOP into something Americans will want to vote for then in 2028 Vance doesn't stand much of a chance and we could actually see a Harris Presidency in 2028

"Right now it's all about Trump and MAGA, these people are not Republican voters"

Scary thoughts

Sometimes the threat of something is more powerful than the actual something

That's pretty easy to fix. For one thing, when China has to ship to the other country, that's automatically a tax on their profits. We don't get the money, but China loses it, so it's still a win for us.

Then, this 2nd country is going to want some sort of bribe from China, so that's a little less profit for China. Again, we don't get the money, but China loses it, so another win.

3rd, this other country that's working for China will have at least 10% tariff on it, so that's more money lost for China, and this time we DO get it, so it's win/win for us.

Finally, if this whole 2nd party shipping scheme turns out to still be profitable enough for China to do it, we WILL find out, and Trump will simply raise the tariff on the 2nd party country in order to make it no longer profitable to China and to punish that country. China may slip a few shipments by this way, but they won't get away with it for long, and any country who's willing to try it will probably get more punishment than profit.
there's already gonna be a fee for Ship docked at US ports if the ship was built by China.

Considering he said that was what he was doing and why…

Let me explain in a song:

Its just cope. the left / uniparty is throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

ICYMI, Jasmin says the quiet part out loud.
About how America need illegals to come over and do the work we supposedly don't wanna do. Like manual labor, picking fruit, cleaning bathrooms, et. al.

You spent so long defending the tariffs only for Trump to get rid of them. This is not temporary he is getting rid of them despite what he says.
You seem disassociated from reality, and delusional.

See above, they truly believe they're telepathic clairvoyants, while simultaneously getting everything exactly 180 degrees from reality.

It's like millions of Jim Cramers.

They did. The UK and Chinese governments have the same goal: do as much damage to the English people as possible.
I swear, everywhere you look, it’s like a cabal inside of every western government decided to abdicate to China. Wonder what the next step in the plan after that was supposed to be

From my uneducated point of view:
Trump puts out tariffs: The US may bring manufacturing back into America and encourage quality again.
Trump puts out tariffs, then backs off if the countries drop theirs: America is no longer being bullied with tariffs.

Seems like a win-win for me, though I prefer jobs coming back to North America where slave labor, extra pollution (China's pollution actually affects the state of living, unlike the US's), sweat shops, low quality, and dictatorships aren't as much of a thing/are illegal.

Kelly Osborne telling Trump on the View in 2015 we need latinos to clean toilets

We're into the second decade of TDD.. OMFG :lossmanjack:

Eh, the general opinion is that Iran is relatively weak at the moment due to them propping up various goatfucker insurgent groups in other countries and they are also fairly well scouted by their enemies. Also, they've recently sold a bunch of their weapons to Vlad for his disastrous invasions of assorted Ukrainian backwater villages so they have fuck all ordinance on hand.

Any military action by the US would be a bunch of rapid decapitation strikes that lead to Iran essentially begging them to stop before they got to the people who are actually running things over there.
More importantly really, the "forevor" part only comes from the nation building attempts. The war parts of iraq and Afghanistan were over within a month with basically no losses... if the goal is "go in, blow up thing we don't want them to have, leave" that's an easy task.

I mention this because this has been in progress since the original tariff spat during Trump's first term. I pray they make ending the laundering a point of emphasis on all negotiations with SEA countries where most of this product is laundered from.
