Yep. That Dam is China's biggest fucking Achilles heel and they fucking know it.
An embargo, as would occur in a war, would cause an instant famine in China. TGD is only the most visible.
China was added to the world trade organization in 2000, if wages were a major part in moving manufacturing then why wasn't a majority of manufacturing moved elsewhere beforehand. Again a 100% tariff costs car manufacturers 5 times more than a 20 dollar an hour salary. Especially because america is literally the number 1 buyer of cars so manufacturers are paying out the fucking ass to ship and wont see much profits.
Don't forget the shipping costs.

Did I say anything wrong? I told you the whipsaw would sink and it didn’t have support.
We literally closed above where we were before that false news story about tariff delays happened. You're also just proving my point
Fyi the reason that's important is the market was rising before that story came out, and said story fucked the market up and had to overcorrect all day.

Exit pump buddy. Closing above doesn’t mean shit when you’ll dump 10% tomorrow again. It’s a simple concept called exit liquidity.

China would lose much worse in a war of attrition. Mainly because for every chink male you kill you're destroying 2 families because the male is expected to not only support their direct family but also their wives entire family. So basically every soldier is Private Ryan.
They do have males to spare though because of the 1 child only policy they did for a while but stopped because no girls were being born.

If we sail a boat over and kidnap some people then make them work for free it would be EVEN CHEAPER
Hear me out what if we just use them as slave labor.
Yep. That Dam is China's biggest fucking Achilles heel and they fucking know it.
I don’t think the US would target it intentionally but I could see Taiwan, India, Japan, Vietnam, or South Korea trying to take it out.

Stock market crashes don't mean line go straight down. Take the 1929 crash for example:

See all those peaks and valleys for months/years after the "crash" while the overall trend is down? That's what catching a falling knife looks like.

he still had his the remains of his John Kerry sticker and it looks like it fell off naturally over time
Maybe it was some anti-John Kerry sticker with his name on it? Seems strange to have both a 2004 Bush/Cheney and 2004 Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on the same vehicle. It's funny to encounter cars with ancient political advertisements on them despite how much time has past, it shows off some cultural artifacts and says something about the automobile's owner.

I think the difference between some people and doomers is that we understand tariffs are risky, but we see that the potential good in the long run outway the risks associated with them, they on the other hand don't see a single positive in tariffs and just believe it's only risk. Manufacturing needs to come back, and i'd rather take a risk now that could backfire than to just slowly die like we were for decades.

Didn't they try this before, only to result in so much waste and theft that they closed down the factory after two years?
The last time I recall any country successfully setting up an industry in India was when the British set up the East India Trading Company. They had to become the second most powerful military force in the world just to keep the Indians in line.

Apple will have to do something similar if they want their venture into Pooland to work. They'll have to turn their factories into fortresses with private military contractors turning the Indian workers upside down and shaking them to see what falls out of their pockets. And even then, they'll have to set up training camps to brainwash their employees into using toilets so they don't turn the place into a fucking sewer.
