When I was working manufacturing, I considered sticking with it and getting into the automation side of things. There will always be robotic arms grabbing things, suction cups that need maintenance, and (most fun of all) new projects to add automation to machines that were originally pretty manual.
Complete financial collapse is what will happen. China is the only thing keeping Hollywood solvent right now. The costs are so inflated for everything Hollywood that it's virtually impossible to keep a movie profitable without China's help. Americans aren't showing up for movies that blow. I always thought those YouTube videos with bait cars they could remotely cut the engines on were really funny. They even had cameras in the cars so you could see the suspect bouncing around and panicking inside the car when 4 or more police vehicles materialize around the corner.
