An Israeli strike targeted a tent sheltering journalists near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The hospital bombing was a part of the attacks that were resumed in coordination with the attacks carried out by Israeli ground forces, and caused the death of more than 50 people. At least two journalists were killed in the strike on the tents, they have been idetified as Helmi al-Faqawi and Yousef al-Khazindar. Sources mentioned the wounding of seven other journalists.

In response to the attack, the Palestinian Journalists Forum issued a statement condemning the bombing as a "heinous crime and a deliberate targeting of journalists that violated all international laws and conventions." Israel has not commented on the accusation.

Journalists have been disproportionately targeted and killed in Israel's war on Gaza for over a year now. The Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs in Brown University, United Kingdom, has issued a research paper with the title: News Graveyards: How Dangers to War Reporters Endanger the World. This paper discusses the threats to journalists or media workers assigned to document wars and conflicts throughout the world. The paper came to the following conclusion:
The war in Gaza has, since October 7, 2023, killed more journalists than the U.S. Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the wars in Yugoslavia in the 1990s and 2000s, and the war in Afghanistan, all combined. - Nick Turse, PhD, Researcher and Author of 'News Graveyards', Watson Institute.

To this day, journalists in Gaza, whether affiliated with a news agency or independent, continue to face strong threats from the Israeli army.

Any chance of moving the New York Times to Gaza?

There was some video on Reddit of some habibi burning alive they claimed was a journalist. See if I can find it.

Branding Israel "Numba 1 Killer of Journos" isn't going to hurt them. Journalism in general has about a 20-30 percent approval rating the US, and that's with normies who answer polls.

This is a smart idea by Israel. The world won't know about their war crimes if they kill the people recording and broadcasting them.

A lot of those journalists are basically terrorists larping as ones for the protection of the title.

But Gaza was always a home for journos protesting on big bad Israel, only to return by evening to Tel Aviv for gay sex. This war made Gaza into the actual warzone they pretended it to be, and they got what they came to see.

Well. If you want to know the real story of this, you kind of need to look at the list of who was killed:

Up to April 7th according to the committee to protect journalists:
  • 173 journalists and media workers were confirmed killed: 165 Palestinian, two Israeli, and six Lebanese.
