Yeah the technician running the test would surely just see there's a dead zone exactly at the sensor while the rest of it's lit up like the sun?

I'd bet the way the regulation is written in some draconian way that requires the sensor be in that specific spot doing the test and nothing else matters. So even though it's obvious that the dead zone is there to evade the test, there's nothing they can do about it.

Finally got a chance to catch up on the April 4th stream. That pickup artist shit with Karl Jobst is the only time I have skipped through a MATI segment for being too cringeworthy to bear. Null is a hero for managing to sit through that at all. Good Lord.

I actually had something I want to make come to mind while listening friday too. I need to install an image editor on this computer or use my other one. So I can make it. Has probably already been done before. But I like the idea, and made myself remember, So I'll actually get around to making it.

A f1 driver took a 20k fine (originally it was 60k but reduced) for taking a shit during the Japanese anthem for "disrespect" despite having a doctor's note proving he was indeed taking a shit:

The Williams driver was late to the Japanese national anthem on the grid due to a stomach upset and was visiting a doctor at the track ahead of the race.

According to the FIA, Sainz was "not in place for the national anthem at the specified time of 1344hrs" before the Suzuka race, breaching Article 19.4 b) of the regulations.

The driver has been given a €20,000 fine, with €10,000 suspended for a 12-month period.

Sainz received the fine despite being examined by Dr. Messina of Med-Ex, who verified his stomach issues prior to the race, adding that they administered medication.

The mitigating circumstances meant that the usual penalty of €60,000 was reduced.

The exact same levels of punishments are also recommended for "any words, deeds or writings that have caused moral injury or loss to the FIA, its bodies, its members or its executive officers, and more generally on the interest of motor sport and on the values defended by the FIA."

The new guidelines follow a clampdown on swearing by the governing body, which resulted in world champion Max Verstappen completing "work of public interest" after using a profanity in a news conference at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Verstappen served the punishment at the end of last year by taking part in a grassroots motorsport project in Rwanda ahead of the FIA's end-of-season prize giving ceremony in Kigali.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was also fined €10,000 for swearing during a news conference last year in Mexico, half of which was suspended for a year.

Because Leclerc immediately apologized for the language, the stewards issuing the fine said a "mitigation factor" had led to a lesser penalty than Verstappen's earlier in the same season.

Teams introduced animated avatars you could customize to look like yourself(or anything really, who has both vitiligo and a prosthetic arm?) back in 2023, and work was pretty quick to say "no, fuck that" to anybody trying to use one during calls. what a waste of dev hours :story: The patrician option is still to screenshot yourself while on a call when not talking, and make that your background, nobody notices

Paying people finders fees for valuable information is customary in every industry except for academia. Further more calling whether he does citing sources is pretty fucking generous. He essentially just summarizes threads aloud.

That's done by pay walling the actual info. Lexisnuxus doesn't post all the information on the clearnet and then put a crypto link at the bottom. The fact that the site exists in a perpetual superposition of free-for-all - just please cite it if you use it and OUR INFO THAT YOU USED TO ENRICH YOURSELF WITHOUT PROPER TRIBUTE OF YOUR BLOOD, UNDYING LOYALTY, and YOUR FIRSTBORN, makes the whole situation that happens over and over with every creator unnecessarily gay and repetitive.
