They prefer unelected (unaccountable) bureaucrats which is why they loved the Chevron decision and how it effectively passed significant power to these bureaucrats. It makes it easier for politicians because they can point the finger at agencies and departments and everyone avoids any real accountability as nothing would be done. You can't fire an agency and people's eyes glaze over at the boring names. That is what they hate the most, any amount of accountability. They're robbers.
