Huh. The only time I witnessed a more than one-minute-long non-skipable ad was back in mid-2017 - it was a music video to a very generic rock song. I wasn’t aware that long unskipable ads were really that much of a common occurence. Either way, there’s always Invidious.

also, is there a way to adblock Spotify?

I don’t use Spotify directly so I don’t know how to block ads on the live-streamed tunes themselves but you can use SpotifyDown to download any song from Spotify for free without having an account, and the downloaded songs won’t have ads in.

I remember a few years ago YouTube had a glut of ads that were like feature length or like four hour "documentaries". Guess they decided that youtube just needs to be like broadcast TV and the algorithm will decide what videos to play.

How much does an hour long unskippable ad cost? Would Chris Chan be able to use his streaming money to force people to watch his schizo dimensional merge sermon?
