That accident is what in tort law is called res ipsa loquitur. Something like that does not happen without negligence. The mere fact that it happened proves negligence. And the pilot was in fact a woman with about near the minimum amount of experience to be allowed to operate such a helicopter.

I'm not sure it was her fault, or entirely her fault, but military should be held to higher standards when operating vehicles, especially when they are in civilian airspace. There may be blame to go around. Why were air traffic controllers unaware of its presence? Why wasn't it warned? And if it was, why weren't the warnings heeded?

Shit like this does not just happen "accidentally." Someone fucked up, severely. I'm inclined to place the blame on the military, which should be able to manage not to kill a bunch of civilians they supposedly have the job of protecting.

I'm not saying the problem was the pilot was a woman. Or even inexperienced. However, it's pretty clear whoever it was should not have had the duties of doing whatever the fuck this chopper was doing in the approach path to a civilian runway. Was it DEI or just incompetence at every level? Honestly I don't care, but it really has a DEI smell to it, doesn't it?
