Stanwyck loved Westerns as a child. They were a blueprint for her acting prowess and untapped capability of what women are able to do in their lives.
 
My autistic gun pet peeve: when actors thrust the gun forward and down when they pretend to fire it. It's the opposite of how guns work, but a lot of them do it.

Interestingly, you also see thugs do it a lot, usually paired with that thing they do where they hold their other arm out as far from the gun as it'll go, as if they're afraid the gun might bite their hand after it's done shooting.

I think people unfamiliar with guns naturally try to "stab" with them because our monkey brains tell us that guns are weapons, and weapons are something you hit with.
