We had a chance for mild reform like 30 years ago but now I'd say it's almost impossible to pass a budget bill without a congressional raise.

I hate these people and think they should have zero money but if the Republicans stand their ground on anything it should be the censorship and totalitarianism not monetary raises for lizard people.
 
Let's be honest here

There was a zero chance that pols, not matter which party they claim to belong too, would vote against a pay raise for themselves. Hence why it was added to the bill to ensure that all the bucks for Ukraine, the troons, the censorship department, the DIE support and all the other shit they crammed in there as a last parting shot at America.

Democracy is a terrible system but sadly it's the best system we have.

K. I presume mentioning poor grad school students is an attempt to categorize me. Like the accusations, by other posters, of being a Marxist and libertarian, you have missed the mark. I do not pirate videogames, because I do not play them. After game companies heavily incorporated Skinner boxes and operant conditioning, I no longer play their slop.

What was the point of rallying against the first bill if what you end up with gives nothing to the president elect? It promises a raise of 1.5 T in the first reconciliation in 2025 with a CUT of 2.5T in net federal spending. Oh Trump gonna live that!

All “nays” were from republicans. This is bizzaro world. No fucking wonder all the Dems supported it, it gives Trump a kick in the groin before he even takes his oath!
