Shooting a lock with a .22 is not going to accomplish anything other than injuring yourself. 12 ga shotgun, standoff device, and frangible rounds are the way to go if you need to breach a door and don't have a battering ram.

edit: You're also not aiming directly at the lock, you place the standoff against the portion of the door between the handle and the latch, aiming for the bolt that's inside.

So I think Nick has fucked up his ability to claim self-defense with the release of that video and might make the charges get upgraded if Nick ends up dealing with a good enough prosecution

You can't claim ''I was being threatened'' but at the same time have a view of the door / porch and still choose to open it and attack first. Then, to also want to claim castle doctrine post hoc

Depends on the crossbow high end crossbows made by the power of German engineering like the one he had which I actually have it's a very nice crossbow and I would suggest everyone buys it from the slingshot channel yeah those would go through Kevlar but probably not level 4 plates.
 
He is a dumbass to have the gun pulled out in clear view. If he had shown up at my door there would have been 10 bullet holes in the door before he realized what was happening. Although I admit, I don't exactly know Chicago self defense laws. I imagine they are garbage.

if anything he might actually win now lol. People have been threatening to show up at his house and kill him, someone hostile shows up and he attacks them, a month later another hostile person shows up with guns after killing their entire family.

He's not the first door cuck. There was this mongoloid in Germany who attempted a Tarrant-style copycat attack on a synagogue.
