Unless I'm stupid It's a Ruger Standard (impossible to tell what model, probably a gen III or IV looks to have a bull barrel but there's a very small chance it's integrally suppressed) with a charging ring and some kind of underbarrel mounted light/laser

You have to remember this is Chicago. Their gun laws are New York, Massachusetts and California levels of insane. A varmint pistol and crossbow is probably the best he could obtain (or perhaps more realistically, what his now-dead parents could obtain.)
 
I think God is playing Bloons with Nick as his character. The first assailant was a harmless (though annoying) yenta and the second was an extremely incompetent lone gunman but by wave 20 he'll be facing down armies of J. Robert O'Neills.

This was the right thing to do , I honestly thought Nick was lying also , I asked for a police report but Nick finally posted vids.

Someone pointed out that his name was on the mail that was stacked by his feet, so he could have just read that. If that's the case, I wouldn't even blame Nick for thinking he had come for him, because that's a bit clever.

He's not exactly a journalist (the good kind not the modern kind). But I understand the frustration with him pretending to be objective when he clearly isn't in regard to several subjects he has personal investiment in.

It is working though.
People are falling for nick's forced insertion (he is gay after all) and taking "the moral high ground" and feeling sorry for nick and not the dead family.
