I was in the trenches with some of you GG guys and I understand that there is an uglyfication movement in gaming being lead by lumpy women, but on the Ciri thing you are just being kinda retarded. Slavic women look like that.

I feel like there is no mid-ground on this.

You either have to have 10/10 women with extreme proportions or hideous monstrosities that check DEI boxes. You can't just have normal women without pissing off everybody.

The Ciri discourse is genuinely braindead. Ciri isn't ugly at all, she's just in the middle of a tense situation. What do they want her making fucking duck faces? No one looks hot all the time.

Come now, this is nonsense. What Slap47 is saying highlights the issue.

The problem I would say is that people are inserting their fetish material first, game second.

Nobody would accuse the original Parasite Eve of being a chaste game, but it and Third Birthday are day and night. That's the kind of difference I personally mean were I to suggest games are being pornified.

Agreed, Ciri's living a pretty rough life. Doubt she has time to put a pound of cosmetics on every morning.

Funny, I always thought 13 Sentinels was their worst game, both from a gameplay and story perspective. A lot of people say its beloved but if so, how come it isn't as recognizable as say, the original Deus Ex or Half Life 1? Thats how you can tell there is some bullshit some people say about games.

I fucking hate Bethesda but I'll give them this, Fallout 4 with all DLCs is 35 gigs. Flash forward 9 years and even linear 6 hour long games are 150+ Gigabytes, Indian Jones I'm looking at you.

I'm not sure if it was me not being in the mood for it, but i've tried it twice and i just can't bring myself past the first chapter with the Valkyrie. Story doesn't grab me, gameplay loop is not great (ill grant that it might get better later on idk) and while it does look pretty... That's pretty much what it is. Pretty painting in which you hold down right and mash the attack button.

That said, I don't know what she looked like before as I never played the witcher games.

And even then, it's still an improvement over DEI uglification.

There is a middle ground. It's between the AAA "every woman is a troon" and whatever that witcher picture is. Again, I don't know the character. Her being "ugly" in that picture seems more like a lighting change.

I never got far enough into PE 1 or 3 to know. I played a lot of PE2 though. One of my favourite games for a time. I'd love a romhack to increase her running speed, then it would be near perfect.

That said, I've seen this debate mostly around Stellar Blade and First Descendant. As someone who remembers games like Fear Effect, Tomb Raider, and Dead or Alive, those games would make puritans head explode if something as mild as Stellar Blade and First Descendant sends them into a tizzy.

Had you said that 10 years ago, I might have agreed. But it's a bit late now. Space Marine 2, Helldivers 2, and others are already showing some of the gaming industry is learning it's lesson.

That said, some games are evergreen. Mario Bros, Streets of Rage 2, and yes, Skyrim.
