I’m unconcerned about losers showing up at my parent’s house because my parents have more than enough IQ points between them to properly handle the situation without attacking someone before they even touch the door bell.

I always forget will the criminal case impact the results of the civil case in any way?

Nicholas isn't winning this. Whether he makes a plea deal or goes to trial, he's getting convicted. The only questions now are, what will his sentence be (probation, community service, and/or jailtime), and more interestingly, how much will Marla Rose get out of him in the civil case.

Now that I think about, I think the only scenario where Nick doesn't ends up looking like a total coward would have been if the old lady had actually threaten him with harm before showing up or she tried to literally break into his house, but she did neither of those things.
