That really strikes me, too - it seems to frustrate them more than anything when people politely find a way to sidestep using pronouns, etc entirely. Like you say, passive non-resistance isn't enough, they require very active participation in 'affirming' their gift, even retroactively.

I've posted before on the losing people to transgenderism thread about a former BFF trooning out her minor kid, but when we had our last big fallout I remember that she realized - with horror! - that I had been avoiding the use of pronouns in relation to the kid as soon as they'd socially 'transitioned' some time prior. She hadn't even noticed at the time, so it clearly wasn't that offensive, but once she realized I had avoided affirming them she was hilariously buttmad about it and stated accusing me of being abusive. Like, this is mostly in text exchanges with the kid's mom, it's not even in front of the actual kid. I wasn't even 'misgendering' them, just sidestepping pronoun use.

Weird title I know, please bare with me

I get dysphoric about things like putting away clothes, doing the washing, making the bed. Whenever I do these things images of women doing them pops up in my head. That proves that my brain works in a sexist way. I would’ve never called myself sexist, I am all for women’s rights and that women can do way more than bearing children and looking after a house. After this though, I’m wondering if maybe I actually am sexist and have some backwards image of what a woman is in my head?

Am I looking at this wrong? Does anyone else experience it? I just feel like a horrible person right now and I don’t know how to fix it. I mean, how do you fix dysphoria such as that??

Advice would be appreciated and I’d like to hear others experiences

Misogyny is a social system that we all live under not a type of thought crime committed by special class of bad Sexist People™️

Everybody is influenced by the society we live in, everybody internalizes messages from it, and all of us are responsible for deciding how to respond to that influence.

To be anti-sexist doesn't mean never having a sexist thought. It means being willing to confront those biases in yourself and others and (most importantly) work against the system that perpetuates them.
It's OK to hate yourself as long as you hate society even more. ;)
