I was just thinking about how sad things are for his children. Both of their parents became dramatically different people over the last few years. Imagine the betrayal his viewers felt except magnified exponentially. These were the people who took them to Disneyland and put presents under the Christmas tree and helped them with their homework. I imagine that during the hearing, he interpreted some things the State said as positive for his case. However, I think he interpreted them completely wrong.

The most probable point that I think would make him happy, and that he would misinterpret, is the State saying something like: "we have no intentions of bringing further charges."

But, as I said, it's totally speculative. I have no evidence to support this theory.
