By warrant do you mean a search warrant, an arrest warrant, or both proceeding in that order?

If it's only a search warrant then that at least gives some idea of the timeline for any real news, because if the Stearns County search warrant to Xitter that was sealed until Ralph displayed it on stream tells us anything about customary local practice from its issuance on September 26th with a deadline for production of the demanded materials no later than October 31st, then it follows that any similar search warrants to Google, to Nick's broadband provider, to Nick's cell service provider, to administrators of any apps on which Nick may have corresponded with Melton, etc., would tend to have a month-long window accumulating more evidence before committing to charges around the turn of the year or later. Yawn.
