The Democrats have been against space exploration since...well, I'd say LBJ, pretty much. JFK obviously set the moonshot in motion to flex on the Soviets, and obviously it would have been a major loss of face if LBJ had canceled it. But it was the peak of the civil rights movement and there were a lot of blacks demanding the program be canceled so they could get mo money for dem programs, which of course LBJ signed into law for his own ulterior motives; never forget his famous "I'll have those niggers voting Democrat for the next 200 years" quote. Funny how they never taught that in school.

But since then, it's generally been a tug of war between Republicans who want to increase manned spaceflight and Democrats who want to cut it back. This doesn't always hold true, like how Nixon wanted to end the Apollo program early and had to be convinced to do a few more landings, but this is how it has tended to be, especially in the last couple of decades. Bush wanted us to return to the moon by 2020, then Obama canceled the Constellation program in his second year in office and the program languished for years. Trump got things set back in motion with the Artemis program, which thankfully seems to have survived Biden, who was probably too busy napping to actually do anything about it.

So yeah, it's ironic that someone who fetishizes space travel so much continues to take the side of the party that wants to do away with it, and actively bitches about the man who's been doing more to make commercial spaceflight viable than anyone else. I hope that Artemis III launches on schedule during Trump's second term, he deserves to be president during our historic return to the moon that he spearheaded, especially since it'll make Bobby continue to cope and seethe.
