Those pictures really says it all doesn't it. Like even though it was a bullshit staged photo-op and he probably wasn't really meant to be there, I knew he was the favorite when I saw those. Trump pictured experiencing the life of an everyday American worker, doing a job, making the fast food he loves. This is what Kamala should have been doing, engaging with working class issues, experiencing, empathizing with work and everyday priorities, being humble, but she was too busy making memes about coconuts and Taylor Swift. 8 years ago I was like these people on Reddit - incapable of understanding what 'went wrong'. I'm looking at that now, and it all makes so much sense.

I think what was more important with these was Trump wasn't pretending. He wasn't acting like he worked at McDonalds or knew anything about it. He was just a billionaire doing something funny to dunk on Kamala while also simultaneously being really curious about how everything actually worked at a fast food restaurant. The fact that Trump didn't come across as lying was an important reason this skit worked as Kamala was incapable of being genuine to people.
