This would be the most clear cut case of self defense if the Bog Witch showed up at his door with a gun. And God help her. Wyoming gun laws are similar to Utah gun laws in that the defender (Cobes) has enormous rights. Partially because the states share a border, partially because the populations are similar. Cobes can and should keep his guns loaded right now, legally he has all the rights to defend himself and not get fucked in court.

It's unfortunately Cobes fault for not picking a nice girl. Didn't everyone warn him? Didn't he take her back multiple times? Weren't there glaring red flags? In my heart, I'm sad that I feel like he is truly waiting for Cobes to die. In my head, my idea of Clint shifts between him being a grimy quitting bastard who used distance as a buffer to perhaps being in a bad position and I sort of understand how he'd feel that way, but never in a positive light. I'm happy he got Cobes a home, but that trailer feels an awful lot like Scrooge McDuck flicking a coin onto the street for a beggar before walking to Ireland to wash his hands of it. I'm sure there's a lot more to it I don't know about.

I feel like it's easy to judge clint which I can and have done before but reality is alot of people in his situation would have just thrown josh out on his own and he'd either be dead, in jail or homeless and likely getting into far worse shit than he does now. All things considered it could be argued clint is doing alot more than most would.

I hadn't considered that, you're completely right. Someone has to be doing all the paperwork, all the bills, etc. Maybe I'm being hard on Clint.
 
Maybe if we're lucky she'll turn the gun on herself instead of Cobes. Talk about a win-win, she's dead and the boy is free.
