The sidewalks in my town are narrow to start with. They have buildings or high plants to one side and cars parked on the street to the other. Then you have the farm market. To get there from the parking lot, you need to walk down the street where you're constantly dodging old people, or people with those huge-ass baby carriages and their wagons for hauling stuff. I don't begrudge those people*. I try to be as respectful as possible and time my approach so there's a place where there's plenty of room to either pass or wait until they pass (like an entry to a parking lot).
The ones I begrudge are the ones looking at their phones as I'm headed in their direction, and are straight down the middle of the sidewalk, and they're impossible to dodge unless you want to hit a building, fall into a plant, or smash into a car.
I'm getting to be that old bat that will demand you get off your fucking phone and pay attention.
*I only begrudge those motherfuckers if they need to stand in line with the big-ass carriage or wagon. Usually those people are there with someone else, so they can grab their produce and move along to the cart waiting away from the line. Nope. Because the farm market is a bunch of tents, you get those people who have to maneuver the big old wagon around you, the next in line, to get out of the tent.
