September 23, 2024A troop of monkeys in India attacked a man who was attempting to rape a little girl, stopping the assault in its tracks.
According to a report from the Times of India, the man was seen on CCTV leading the child, only 6-years-old, down a lane in Baghpat, near New Delhi, over the weekend. The suspect then proceeded to pull her into an abandoned house, where he undressed her and began to sexually assault her.
Fortunately, a troop of local monkeys put a stop to the rape after seemingly witnessing what was happening. In what has been perceived as a heroic effort to protect the child, the pack of primates rushed towards the rapist all at once, scaring him off and letting the girl escape unharmed.
The child recounted the story of the monkeys when she returned home to her family, revealing how they had saved her life.
“My daughter would have been dead by now if the monkeys had not intervened,” the girl’s father told local media. The father also noted that the attempted rapist had threatened to kill him, and that he had picked up the girl when she was playing outside.

Local police told the news that they had heard of the incident and were investigating, but that the suspect had yet to be caught or even identified.
The case comes after multiple high profile rape cases in India in recent weeks. In August, a man in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, died after he was thrown out of a private ambulance in order for the driver to rape his wife.
“I was forced to sit in the front seat, and then the driver and his companion started molesting me. I objected, but they did not listen to me,” the woman told local media, adding that her husband, who was being driven back from hospital, and her brother, tried to intervene. As a result, the two men “forcibly removed the oxygen mask” from her husband, threw him out of the vehicle, and locked her brother in the front in order to begin molesting her.
Earlier that month, the body of 31-year-old trainee doctor Moumita Debnath was found on a blood soaked mattress in the hospital she worked at, with a secondary autopsy revealing she was subject to a brutal sexual assault before she died. The rape sparked protests across the country, but also prompted a massive spike in searches on PornHub for her name, after a rumour emerged that the video of the rape had been leaked onto the internet.
