his case, is true, Chibi does have low esteem). This is textbook pedestalization of females. If he wants to fuck BPD cosplay whores go for it. Self deprecation doesn't work for him because he's only retreating further into the negative mindset that he's not worthy of anyone or anything.

I get where you're coming from but I don't think it's that deep. The 'I am not worthy' schtick is a pretty common (and extremely cringe) reaction in weeb fandoms to anything they consider impossibly amazing. It's very similar to the even more cringe practice of literally bowing on your hands and knees in front of people and inanimate objects you are impressed by (if you've ever been to a comic con I guarantee you've seen some autist unironically do this).

TL;DR it's less about self-deprecation and more about giving exaggerated praise in an attempt to be funny. It's still pathetic, cringe and desperate, though, so I suppose the motivation's not that important.
