The court (AFAIK, not an expert) has broad power to mandate whatever they want with regard to how footage of the trial is recorded/streamed/released.
For example, in the case of the hearings related to the the Brian Kohberger case, the judge specifically instructed the cameras to not focus on the defendant for extended periods of time.

They absolutely could do something like what you suggest, Rackets and/or his lawyer are just being obtuse and not proffering that as a solution because he's a cockroach that has no principles. This motion isn't about the kids, it's about preserving Nicky's """"dignity"""" and ego.
