Yeah sometimes I forget Jack is like 55 years old because of how he looks and acts like a 70 year old boomer.

His internal organs are probably in worse condition compared to the average 70 year old. The fat collection in his gut specifically means he has a lot of extra visceral fat covering his heart, kidneys, liver, etc. I guess it’s fitting he acts older than he is (in a negative way), because his body sure as hell is aging faster than it should.

Jack usually steers clear of this type of humor at least since I have been following him because he is smart enough to realize that he can't wipe or eat without his wife's help. Jack treats Tammy like shit in his weekly CWJ and JOTG videos and once every 2 weeks he posts the same picture of her with his heart-eyed bitmoji next to it to express his love.

WRT Scalfani finances, I'm of the opinion that they probably do have more money than many here think, but I also think they are probably in massive debt. I work in lending for a financial institution and I see how people manage their finances -- it's absolutely insane the way some people live. I've seen couples who have a combined annual income of $350k with like 15 credit cards, all with high balances, like $7k just on a fucking Ulta store card alone for instance. I think Jack and Tammy are probably like so many other middle class Americans: so financially illiterate that they have no idea how wealthy they truly are, because the way they spend prevents them from ever realizing that. As for medical expenses, I think a good number of the regulars in this thread probably aren't American and have mostly just heard the cherry-picked healthcare cost horror stories, but employer-sponsored health insurance is pretty cheap ( e.g. I pay $80/month for myself and it includes vision and dental as well), and if you have it, you're basically gonna pay nothing or close to nothing for the medical care itself. Even if you're self-employed you can get a good individual plan for like $300/month. More expensive, but beats the hell out of paying the wildly inflated healthcare costs yourself should you need them.
Jr. and Brianna don't seem to have high-paying jobs, but it's possible or even likely that each of their parents had savings accounts for them throughout their lives. That seems like something that Tammy at least would have been smart enough to set up and contribute to. We don't really know anything about Brianna's family. Maybe a relative died and left her money; I know people in their 20s who were able to buy houses relatively young due to that. They did pay for their own wedding too, so they've obviously succeeded at saving up some money before. It was very modest compared to maybe the 'average' wedding, but even doing what they did would still cost in the ballpark of like $5k.

That’s not surprising to me in the slightest. He barely even acknowledges his wife’s help with his cooking videos (as he can’t move one of his arms), and still acts as if he was doing everything. At least he has some self awareness, but he’s still pretty lazy in the romance department if he thinks occasional bitmoji posts expressing his love is enough for what Tammy does for him daily. The least he could do is offer to buy her Olive Garden for days she doesn’t want to cook (doesn’t have to be that place, Jack just comes across as the apex consumer for restaurants of that type).

Just to add to the financial speculation, Tammy's previous roles include financial controller which is a pretty good paying position. I took a look at what the average salaries are for controllers in tn and I saw salaries ranging from 100-230k per year. If she did make this kind of money it all makes more sense now.

That's higher than what I have seen. Indeed gives a range from $60k-$144k with an average of $94k. Ziprecruiter shows $38k-$153k with the average being $96k. Payscale has $78k to $127k with an average of $97k. Those $230k a year jobs are for senior level positions that require or at least strongly prefer a professional license and/or a Master's degree. She's had a long career, but most of it has been bouncing around every couple of years to another small company that doesn't care that she has no licenses and only a Bachelor's from a long-defunct shady for-profit college. She's probably not making much more than $120k/year. Still decent money, but enough to support their lifestyle and still have money left over? Maybe.

Shipping containers are structurally sound, and generally contain valuable items worth moving. The only moving thing in Jacks house worth anything is his mobility scooter.

From the outside, it’s hard to decide what bothers me most: the sparse, tiny windows; the overall hideous structure; the aluminum siding and stone combo, the lack of mature trees…the list goes on.
As for the interior, it takes a special couple to make a space like that look and feel so cluttered. They’ve barely unpacked and it is already so full of crap. That video should have had a trigger warning for claustrophobics.
Jack’s narration is a horror all its own. I could live my whole life without hearing a grown man describe a room as “cute” ever again. Also hate him describing things as “huge” that are just standard-sized.
I’m a latecomer to the thread after abandoning an attempt to start from page one last year. But I might have to go back and try again, just so I don’t miss out on his greatest hits. (I had to fast yesterday and I watched CWJ videos since I knew they wouldn’t make me hungry.)

Hahaha it looks like the paneling's already starting to buckle and warp due to the heat in a couple of places. Probably shouldn't have gotten people who spec in patios and decks to built a shitty cult compound.

I don't see it, but I can believe it. Not due to construction quality, but just that its prefab panels over a skeletal frame, with some insulation between. I doubt they paid up for quality panels either, so they're probably gonna get the shit dented outta them come the first hailstorm. Wouldn't be surprised if it groaned or creaked in heavy winds either.
This shits supposed to be used for garages, sheds, workshops, the sorta buildings where you just need walls and a roof over a big open space, to cover the actual shit inside you care about. Its not supposed to be pretty, or pleasant, or even particularly long lasting, even with proper maintenance. If your garage creaks, panels warps a bit or starts to leak heat, you probably don't care. Slightly more annoying in a workshop, but you're probably not gonna hear the creaking over the work you're presumably doing. And ain't never seen a cow complain about its barn. Guess we'll see if Jack lives up to that adage about being what you eat.
The only thing I'm not inclined to blame is the construction company, sounds like Jack got exactly what he paid for.
