Do you niggers not know how music licensing works? There are these two REALLY big music publishing companies, ASCAP and BMI. Musical acts and composers sell the publishing rights to their recordings/songs to these companies that do all the leg work of licensing the music to radio stations, bars, clubs, anyone who wants a license to play either or both of those companies' catalogues of music. In return, the composers and performers don't have to do that time-intensive work and instead get a big, fat check and then regular royalty checks based on number of plays, licenses, or other metrics.

The GOP or individual campaigns buy licenses from ASCAP, BMI or both, WHICH GIVES THEM THE RIGHT TO PLAY WHATEVER SONG IS CONTAINED WITHIN THAT LICENSE, and they don't have to ask the composers or acts a goddam thing.

Yeah, Neil Young or some other rich, shit-lib act can seek attention and virtue signal by announcing that they "didn't give those eebul Redumblicans permission to use my toooons." Except that they did when they sold their publishing rights. And there's fuck all they can do about it.

No, I don't buy music licenses so I have no need and no interest in knowing the details other than obviously to make better shitposts

Anyway that sounds fake and gay, I think when I run for president I'll go the play the music route and tell them to lick my balls when they complain about muh loicense
