Nick was probably in good spirits getting for his show. Then the documents dropped and he locked himself in the bathroom again. April right now is probably in hour three of trying to get him to come out.

The CPS stuff is going pretty much like it always goes. There is usually no room to negotiate anything. You do what they say. IMO, admitting to drug use doesn't really harm him much in the criminal trial anyway. Because its a possession case. He is either going to win it by beating the warrant or he is going to lose. Maybe he is deluded enough to really think he can convince a jury that he has never done coke and he doesn't know where the coke in his bedroom came from. But if the thinks that, he is only fooling himself.

Sooner or later, he is going to have to give a full accounting of his drug history to CPS and agree to a treatment program. There isn't any way around that. The documents also suggest that his wife was at time those documents were created still completely on board with Nick's strategy.

The case paperwork also lays the groundwork for maybe driving April out of the house(s) as a bad influence druggie. They agreed to having no drug people around them as part of the plan. And I would assume that part of their drug confession is going to require telling the truth about April's involvement.

He's still neglecting them! Like hell the State is going to prevent him from abusing those kids. He's dragging his feet out of retaliation to make everyone involved suffer after reporting him to authorities. That'll teach them, including Kayla's family, that nobody messes with the Balldo.
