Ted's a snake. That can be both beneficial and a problem. You can only depend on him to blow on his finger and figure out what way the winds are blowing.
He's the kind of guy you hire to be your bulldog and politick behind the scenes. He's Republican Hillary Clinton. Turn them loose and they'll conquer worlds for you, just hope against hope that they never get the idea to turn on you.
 
As much as we meme on boomers it's insane how many of our elite politicians are silent gen or even greatest generation.

I think a younger VP could be a nice shakeup. The VP has been a very boring, somewhat milquetoast role for quite a long time. It would be interesting to have a more fiery VP who gets himself into shenanigans with the media and the Senate.

There is no other way to watch this unaltered I'd imagine? Aside from sittin' in the audience? If so, that should be unconstitutional or at the minimum unethical. Wonder if Trump's team will get a clean recording, I can completely see them editing on the fly under the guise of "removing hate speech".

If Trump's team is smart (and Steven Cheung should be on the ball on this), record the debate from the curtains on your phone with Trump and Joepedo in the frame. Preferably from two phones. This way when they edit out Joepedo saying "no nigger enough stop! cunt faggot cunt!" they can upload it.

Yeah it's particularly jarring once you actually start taking notes on the ages and realize people like Mitch McConnell and Pelosi are actually OLDER than boomers (both of them were born before the USA even joined WW2).

This has the potential to backfire hard. If they just suddenly cut the feed it will raise a insane amount of gossip, and they won't be able to control it anyway because there are witnesses in the studio.

There is no audience, beyond CNN staff running the thing and the staffs of the candidates/Secret Service. Between that and the 1-2 min broadcast delay, its clear they're doing things to minimize Biden gaffs getting out.

Their job isn't to grab headlines, it's to grease the wheels in service of the president's agenda. Biden was the last example of that working, before his brain got fried by old age. He got so many of Obama's decisions through a frequently adversarial congress because he (at the time) knew how to suck up to people and glad-hand.
Trump doesn't need a firebrand VP, he can handle that himself, he needs a dude who knows the legislature well enough that he can prevent the GOP establishment from stabbing him in the back and getting away with it.

The fact that they need to meticulously curate everything, instead of letting the sights and sounds speak for themselves, shows how little confidence they have in their own legitimacy. Everything is a Potemkin Village.

Biden excelled because he knew everyone. He knew how to bend them for votes(because he helped bury the bodies). His experience is the only reason they took someone as reputation damaged creep as Biden.
 
I don't expect Biden do do virtually any debating at all. Any time Trump makes a point the moderator is just going to cut him off and say that all economic indicators are up and the border is secure.

It's remarkable how quickly things changed. When I was half paying attention as a naive high schooler in history class, everything we talked about felt so far away from the present. Holy moly, in my time on this earth I've noticed genuinely historic moments every other year now. It's like the entirety of Western culture decided to slam the acceleration pedal hard enough to jam it in place. Not exactly a complaint, just an observation and surprise.

Either way, body cams, hidden cameras, or if CNN allows personal cameras to film they better be used. CNN has lost all credibility in my eyes, if the entire headquarters and studios dropped into the center of the earth, I would not shed a tear.
