I have no clue why he didn't just find another case or something to do.
Because trial streams require a lot of time when you're doing them live. Plus he "made it" covering Rittenhouse and Depp so why should he cover some podunk murder case after that? Nick is inherently lazy and while trial streaming doesn't require a lot of prep work it does take time away from him having FUN. Nick really let the mask slip during his whole anti-jury analysis rant. He hated people engaging in jury analysis and I think he came to hate trial streaming as well.

Nick created a novel genre of streaming and wanted nothing to do with it in less than a year, it's astonishing.

I sort of get it in a way, trial Streaming is just glorified react content from lawyers, but it's react content that's longform rather than a bunch of small clips pasted together, you can't really walk away from it easily.

But then if Nick was so against a 9 to 5 following court room drama he could have just brought on a suitable co-host who would take over the lawyer panel whenever Nick ducked out for an hour or two, it would be easy enough to catch him up afterwards, they could even clip certain parts out for him. The problem with this is that Nick would always want to remain in control and the thought of someone else taking over, maybe doing it better than him, would effectively stop him from taking those breaks. The whole situation would be intolerable for someone as controlling as Nick.

Over time it fell off because people had other things to do and there's not always an interesting case.
I disagree. People like Emily Baker and the good looking dude with long hair have been consistently getting huge numbers post Depp. Nick was just lazy and didn't want to do the law stuff. The sad thing is he still could have pivoted to the entertainment side and retained a decent size audience if he didn't go full degeneracy. Once coom-alot and JuJu became frequent guests is when I never looked back.

I genuinely don't think Nick still had the cognitive ability to follow a trial stream for half a day. Forget knowing all the relevant law or facts, I don't think he would even be capable of maintaining focus on something for that long any more.

He's been absolutely cooked most of this year.

Who do you trust more......Emily Baker & Peter Tragos....or the social media expert, Nicholas Rekieta?

Aw, I just had a flashback to days where I was putting on Rekieta covering podunk murder trials on, it was the best. Rittenhouse was good, but my absolute favorite was Theodore Edgecombe, and I also liked Kim Potter one. When this motherfucker started fucking up cover of Chandler Halderson trial, not paying attention to testimonies, and making creepy jokes, that's when I started pulling away. His own content and streams based on what he thinks were always fucking boring, I only payed attention when cousin Jersh was making appearance.
But yeah, had he continued just covering murder trials without fucking up logistics of it, and without making constant sleazy jokes, I would remain blind as to how much of a disgusting loser Rekieta is.

Views did fall off but that's because the Depp trial was such a massive cultural thing. You're not going to get those numbers again unless there is something as equally interesting to the public. But, the people covering trial streams are still pulling decent numbers. Robert Gouveia was pulling big number for the Fani Willis stuff and when Potentially Criminal could cover that live he was getting like 1k+ concurrent viewers.

The interest and demand is there for long form trial coverage.

The popcorn shooter was a fun one. It was Nick and Branca shitting on the state.

I think Nick was also upset those streams weren't getting him 80k-100k daily views like Rittenhouse and Depp did. I too thought Theodore Edgecome and other local stuff werr great, but they "only" were getting live views in the thousands and maybe ten thousands.

A characteristic of NPD is grandiosity, feeling like they're just inherently higher quality than most. I think Nick tricked himself into thinking he was generating those views because he's just so funny and entertaining to listen to. Not because they were cases that had national attention.

That was probably also why Nick made that big speech about "canceling himself" out of lawtube because he hates being labeled. It was really because he was seething others were doing as well, if not better than him, doing "his" thing.

I agree. I'm certainly not trying to argue the numbers are the same. I'm just countering the idea that Nick's falloff had anything to do with less interesting trials. As you and others have noted, some of the coziest trials were the more obscure ones. When I think of old Nick trials I think of the Potter trial.

It's why he spends entire streams doing stand-up routines, he's never realized he was riding shotgun to trials / internet lolsuits

The judge made that trial. He's the best.

I actually think he could have gotten big views like that but he was not willing to put in the extra effort. He got big because he was first and got lucky with the two big trials, but by that point he was already unwilling to put in the actual work to be entertaining. He could have done that and didn't. Which is wild because now we are looking at so many big cases there's barely enough coverage to go around between Young Thug, Karen Read, and Baldwin.

New vid for you.

The idea was given to me by user @ChromaQuack. This was quite a challenge, but was fun to do!
His last defiant stream was quite a bounty of audio clips I see :story:

It seems despite all his posturing OldCoom was brought down by the Minnesotan prude coons in the end, very sad.

If you don't want to react to circus clown cases any more, BECOME the circus clown case.

It's actually astounding. I have never stopped enjoying someones content that quickly.
I used to watch his streams almost every day he had them back in 2019 during the Vic case, and it appeared like he cared about putting on a show ("For the fans"). He gave up on that really quickly.

As to why I stopped watching, for me it was simple: I was sick of him spending the majority of the stream bitching about his personal life and trying to make himself the subject of the streams, while he became increasingly incompetent at running a stream and seemed like he was actively avoiding to put any effort in (like getting documents ready). And his excuses for doing the bare minimum when he wasn't (later confirmed) to be actively avoiding were weak cuck horseshit.

And then it got worse when he decided to focus on his sex life and relationship advice that nobody asked for (two of the people he's claimed to help have divorced, btw).

And then it got worserer (that's my word, deal with it) when he literally told people who wanted law content to fuck off for being faggots.

I'd tuned out long before that step but that just made my clean break even easier. Everything I've seen from him after around November 2022 has been from here.

How dare I want quality content? Lmao
