I don’t think so.
Even if Nick was somehow still so on top of it he was getting his kids go the bus stop on time each day (and never had to drive them), the bus driver and students would notice the other kids clothes were dirty and repeatedly worn. Free lunch is good, but it wouldn’t erase the kids not getting breakfast or dinner at home. They would still be hungry and one meal a day probably wouldn’t cover that up. It’s not a big deal - the abuse came to light anyway, even within a private and religious school setting - but I do not think that Nick and Kayla would have escaped notice in a public school either .
