My understanding of the CHIPS record is that:

• Everyone attended in person
• The foster parents are listed
• Robert Rekieta is Nick's father
• Robert is not listed
• Robert testified at the hearing

There is thread speculation (I have not seen anything but heresay) that Robert and his wife are licensed as as foster parents.

Hypothesis: Robert and his wife are the foster parents. Normally this would be hidden information; the foster parents are not listed by name. However, what court reporter would think to list Robert as also attending as a witness to hide that he is one of the foster parents?

Curious to hear what others think of this hypothesis. I think someone also suggested Robert & wife as the foster parents, but I didn't see the argument spelled out so explicitly.

Good spot. I think you might be right and it would line up with my theory that Nick had labeled Kayla’s family as the enemy camp and Kayla has probably been estranged from them for awhile.

Aaron also mentioned Nick’s parents had kept all the kids for an entire week during the qouver era. It would seem like Nick’s dad was in Minn a lot more these last few months. Once the nanny quit and Kayla’s family was cut off I could see Nick’s parents coming in to try and do damage control. I can’t imagine how much Nick whined about having to care for his own kids to parents, given he had to complain about it even to every random cop that pulled him over.

Someone needs to ask Aaron what he knows about the family situation. He seemed to be in contact with Kayla’s family after he left the qouver, but had contact with Nick’s family while he was in it. This would make sense given Nick wouldn’t allow any criticism of his coke and whores lifestyle, which I’m sure Kayla’s family is horrified by. Keeping the families apart and as opposing factions would be Nick’s best strategy to keep the coke and swinging party going. If Nick and Kayla’s parents would join forces Nick could be screwed. He might have his Dad convinced all this madness is due to Kayla’s prude family taking revenge due disapproval of his erotic lifestyle.

Nick also claimed that he and Kayla fostered at some point, well before streaming.
Don't know when it comes to Nick's parents.

It’s not always the best idea to just send kids to a families house after being found in a drug den.

It takes steps to get there. I’m sure they are working behind the scenes to ensure that.

CPS will often place the kids elsewhere for a few days, until they get the lay of the land. But wherever possible they really do want the kids back with family. Either Grandma and Grandpa or Aunt and Uncle as quickly as they can "safely" manage. ("Safely manage" being something that not all County or State CPS division are particularly good at.)

The key things they really want are no unsupervised time with the problem parents. And the caretakers not permitting the parents to grab the kids and run out of state.
