the public reaction to i saw the tv glow is like a perfect case study into how cis people take up queer spaces and unknowingly mock and enjoy trans suffering. sitting in the theater, i had a pit in my stomach the entire time. so many times, i would tear up and then someone else in the theater would laugh. and i wouldn’t cry because how would they look at me when the lights came back on? because they don’t see it. they don’t see the pain. they think it’s funny. i left the theater completely silent, not saying a word to my boyfriend and he didn’t say a word to me until partway into the drive home. the people around us immediately got to picking it apart, explaining what it all meant to each other, dumbing it down, making theories. cis people see the the movie, just like transness, as something to debate. a conversation. something to dissect because it makes them uncomfortable if they don’t understand it in their easily digestible way.
There is a lot to unpack here.
1) the troon’s belief that only trans people are “queer,” which is a common one in my experience (I have definitely had enbies and troons attempt to groom me by telling me that lesbians are inherently “removed from being cis” for liking pussy)
2) the apparent belief that public spaces like movie theaters are for “queers” (aka trannies) only
3) the belief that only tranny opinions (and particularly only his) matter on everything.
4) a further demonstration of lack of theory of mind by assuming that none of other audience members would’ve wanted to further discuss the movie (positively or negatively) or for reasons besides “transness” afterwards elsewhere like he did. Only HE and his almost certainly pooner “boyfriend” recognized Buffy skinwalking trash I Saw the TV Glow as the deep, thought provoking work it truly is right on the spot
5) are you sure the people laughing at the shitty tranny made horror movie were all cis, or did you just assume their gender, you shitlord?!
What an entitled, egotistical prick.
The reply hug box is small but still fascinating. People having fun in a theater is violence when there are trans people hurting, dammit!

Its this kind of thinking they have which makes me wonder if what they really want is a feudal society or something like ancient Athens, with "Queer" people firmly at the top, gaming, indulging in orgies and fetishes, philosophizing in hugboxes.
While cis or "Chud" slaves toil firmly underneath them, not being allowed into anywhere where their mere presence would offend "Queer" people.

Haven’t even tried to watch it after reading similar things, and We’re All Going To The World’s Fair was hot garbage.
It was on Shudder for a while.
World’s Fair (because I’m not typing that overly long title again) was a snooze fest filled with well known tropes, oh no spooky internet game and found footage and being affected in real life by the killer game!
Generally I love found footage, but only if it’s good (like Incantation).
Also found it funny in World’s Fair that there was a full grown man who was secretly watching the minor teenage main character through her webcam, that was introduced as a helpful character.
Remember thinking it was bizarre that they just glossed over the man secretly watching a teenager to “help” her, that’s a creepy plot device.

Well if you think this is a creepy plot device, then apparently in the "I Saw The TV Glow" the cis lesbian childhood friend of the main character (who is a male loser, hinted to be an "egg" troon) comes back to his life years later and insist he has to bury himself alive to be reborn as a character from their fav childhood TV show (who is of course a cute powerful lesbian princess and dates another cool powerful lesbian princess that the cis lesbian childhood friend will be reborn as, of course). The main character decides to NOT kill himself in a horrifying way for a promise of a perfect, girly afterlife and instead moves on with his life and troons see this as tragic and wrong.
Let me repeat - trans community is sad that the troon character does NOT kill himself, lmao.

I’m sure the movie is indie trash too so it’s not going to cause any fuss, but if it’s not even making trannies happy they missed the target demographic, and normal people aren’t going to love it just because it’s a tranny who made it.
Will stop de railing after this, but comparing World’s Fair to a movie I saw recently called Slotherhouse (a killer sloth wreaks havoc in a sorority house), Slotherhouse is a 10/10.
At least Slotherhouse keeps you awake and is funny.

(It is our civic duty to castrate and lower libido for proven-beyond-the-shadow-of-a-doubt sex offenders, if we're not outright executing them. If certain groups are molesting and raping at higher rates, maybe those groups should stop doing that. If the percentage of offending people in a group is high enough to the point that proper punishment could resemble eugenics, maybe those groups deserve to be sterilized to obscurity.)

I know this is a joke, but a lot of them don't and won't get the chop. They're all loons, but in different ways. People that actually chop their dick up, stuff it inside themselves with a colon graft are obviously mentally unwell, I actually sometimes feel bad for those types (depending on who it is).
Then there's the futanari femboy type. They are well aware that modern science cannot give them a pussy. They know that SRS will leave their sex organs in a non-functioning mess of tatters, so they leave their dicks alone and push to redefine "woman" as "anyone that says they are a woman" rather than "adult human female". They are the ones pushing language games ("people who menstruate", AMAB, etc) and pushing for gender self-ID. They consider the problem not their own body but by society's definitions and categories. Far less delusional than a cock chopper, but far more manipulative and narcissistic.
