So the colonies are picking a new govenor general or whatever they call them to replace the kenyan fellow they had last time.

The choice this year is between a ginger tax dodging democrat oaf and a reptoid dynastic politician up to her neck in lies and corruption. As ever the contest between red and blue has been riveting, with much grabbing of pussies and hiding of emails.

We have a thread charting the campaigns but the big day deserves its own thread.

Having the Republicans control the house and senate will be the true end of all civil rights and respect treatment of women and minorities (lgbtqs, blacks like myself, and whatnot...) in this country, not Trump. Having Republicans control the House and Senate is going to ruin this nation royally - I just know it. I'm glad Hillary lost, but I fear this nation is going to become a third world hellhole by the time it's over and we won't be able to fight back by voting unless you're white and rich - this scares me. A lot.

We can be happy that Hillary lost - but I don't see anything else beyond that. All I see is Great Depression 2, no recovery from that, a Christian brand of Sharia Law being introduced, women's and minorities rights being royally rolled back, and WW3 happening because of some trigger happy war hawks decide we need to start another war, while our nation continues to fail to take care of itself, further failing as a result and dying horribly.

How can anyone live in a nation like that - Trump won't do this shit, but the House and Senate will with so many Republicans who would love to do those things I mentioned.

I love how all these people can only ever manage to come up with is "He's MEAN!!!!" when they could criticize his total lack of political experience, how strongly he reacts to criticism when the President of the United States is the most criticized person on the planet, his misinformed views on various subjects, etc.

But no, it's always fucking "TRUMP IS LITERALLY HITLER, DO YOU REALLY WANT A BIG MEANIE AS PRESIDENT??" Maybe if they spent more time criticizing his political strategies instead of screeching about how he and his supporters are racist/sexist/Islamophobic/etc, they wouldn't be in this mess.

I may be a lifelong liberal, but the thought of that lizard in a pantsuit having to frantically write a concession speech as her dreams collapse around her really takes the edge off
