I don't believe it was intentional. Doug could have done a "Nick is my friend, thoughts and prayers to his family, I hope he gets through this" and they could have just shit on Comicsgate some more. But instead Doug had to be a know-it-all and start talking about witch hunts and everyone in the town hating Nick.

Before it started I thought Doug's balldowashing over the years would just be bypassed, but I was wrong. Fantastic show overall, great guest, great conversation and lots of funny bits. And the best part is that, with Doug's specific brand of Christianity, it's not even a burnt bridge.

I think that both PPP and Doug are both halfway there. Sin needs to be called out, especially when it's to the point of destruction of your life and the life of others. It's different than the "everyone is a sinner" mindset. Everyone does sin, but not to the point of actual destruction. After the sin is rebuked, an increase of love needs to be offered to the person who sinned, otherwise that person will see you as an enemy and will continue to double down.

Doug seems to be of the mindset that you only need to love and PPP only vaguely alluded to showing them love, but did concede that everyone is entitled to forgiveness. However, it seems that he thinks forgiveness is only given after things are rectified. Christ said we need to forgive 70 times 7, really just meaning that no matter what, we show others forgiveness no matter how many times they offend us.

It sucks because I love Earthworm Jim, but Doug sweeping for Balldo Boy is reprehensible. Also letting it slip that his kids have sometimes looked dirty and you could even see their bones because of how emaciated they are is, to put it lightly, not a good fucking look and makes you come off as retarded. Doug's an interesting case. I think he's very true to his morals and his outlook on "sinners" is very old timey. In his day homosexuals were the most numerous sinner he saw. Nowadays homosexuals are widely accepted so the status of homosexuality even being a sin is in flux and a spotlight is being shone on pedophiles. The pedos were always there but if you're someone like Doug you just lived in your Christian bubble and saw the gays as the greatest enemy.
The only failing of PPP here is his worldview is skewed being terminally online and sees pedos as the end-all. Doug sees all sinners being judged equally.

I'm glad they're making the split location format work. When that first happened I thought the show was beginning to slide into the shitter.

The only thing that irks me is PPP's situation. I had an extroverted friend who relentlessly brought me out of my shell. I learned sometimes you just have to be repeatedly thrown into the fire and the best thing you can have during those times is an unironic bro who you can trust is legit helping.
