Considering Aaron is an Anthony Cumia clone, this one seems particularly relevant:

Lady Diane had been a fan of the O&A show for decades, she worked for a brewery and became a massive alcoholic. They'd spend years talking to her when she'd call in telling her to get her shit together, they arranged for her to go to AA, they even eventually hired her as a paid intern to find purpose. Nothing worked and she ultimately lost her husband, her son, and her home.
Eventually one day, she calls in from the ICU suffering from a complete psychotic break from the alcohol. She barely still knew who she was, but she thought she was back on a Navy ship from her youth. You can hear Opie and Jim's hearts sink as they realize how lost she is. Hearing her repeatedly exclaim in confusion "I'm on a ship! I'm on a ship!" is brutally tragic. Pretty sure she died soon after that call.
This is exactly the direction Nick is heading with his drinking unless he turns it around. He's going to be sitting in the ICU, doing imaginary livestreams to himself, thinking he's still in his office talking to Drex, asking the doctor when he can see his wife or children, and he'll never be able to turn it back.
He needs rehab yesterday and even then, it's probably too late.
