I don't think you can blame this on his upbringing at this point. For as much of a meme as it sounds, he did become a licensed lolyer, and he wasn't this way when he first started streaming. I remember the absolute smashed rants were a rarity. He was rarely, if ever, blackout drunk at the end of a stream during the vic saga. I think what's happening now is ALL on Nick.
This all came about thanks to booze, success, swinging and drugs, in that order. He couldn't handle the situation his life had created. He liked the booze. The success only enabled his drinking habits and allowed him to do it more. Which tanked his marriage. Now he has a reason to drink. Which led to swinging. Now he has a bigger reason to drink more. Which led to drugs, which tanked his success. Which made him drink and do drugs more......Yeah the chain ain't hard to follow. If he didn't blow up as big as he did, we probably wouldn't be here right now. His downward spiral was long, but his nosedive was very rapid.
Nick is so fucking retarded for admitting in that group DM that he's never fired a gun in five years or since moving to his new home. There goes that "maybe he brought a spent shell casing home from shooting" theory. This dude really cannot help himself.

Gonna slight PL here. This behavior is actually NORMAL for junkies like Nick. Like I said before, he's cycling through the 6 of the 7 Stages of Grief while coming down. Nothing he does over the next month should be a surprise to anyone. He's gonna keep up this charade until he hits rock bottom or his parents hit him hard enough to make him wake up to reality. If they're able to tard wrangle him in, he'll make it through this. Rehab is going to have a hell of a time buck breaking him though. He's not in a good state of mind and if you guys are expecting an attempt at a redemption arc, it ain't coming until at least July.

You guys are expecting too much too soon. Humility and apology tours aren't coming for awhile. This ain't my first rodeo and Nick is just floundering like they all do. Hopefully he doesn't incriminate himself too hard during this time or he's fucked.
I really like how he said he got rid of the liquor. Cause that's very irrational for him, to admit that he knows that his drinking could be a problem. Good ol' Nick we knew would just get on stream and hit the bottle, just as a final fuck you to anyone concerned.
And yet, he's not streaming, and he said the liquor is gone. But at the same time he wants the people who believe the children were neglected to kill themselves - which of course includes the actual people who reported that they are concerned.
Almost like he's intimidating them, wanting them to die. Very silly behavior.
He's breaking apart and trying to look like he's above it at the same time.
You can rate me optimistic for this, but there's a few factors that might allow for a redemption arc. Not that it will happen, not that it's likely, but it's possible.
1. He seems to be abiding by the court mandates. AFAWK
2. He seems to be slowly breaking
3. His nosedive was only in the past 6mo. to a year. This actually is very important in recovery chances.
4. His publicity is going to be a humiliation ritual, this will help in eventually buck breaking him.
5. His biggest enablers, Aaron and April want NOTHING to do with him. He won't be pressured by the two biggest external factors.
Hell, streaming probably would be very good for his recovery post rehab. He could do a whole recovery series detailing his sobriety journey. It would be very therapeutic for him. The problems hindering his chance at recovery?
1. His Locals chat blowing smoke up his ass.
2. Viva and Barnes. These faggots running defense for him HAVE to go. They're hurting him more than anyone I think really understands. They're fucking killing any chance Nick has of saving his own hide.
3. Kayla. I don't know if they've been in contact at all yet, but either way, staying far away from each other will help them both recover. However, eventually this bridge will have to be crossed and if they both want to stay sober, this marriage will probably HAVE to end. That's going to be the hardest part.
