I think this is correct. I don't know squat about Evangelical Protestantism, but in most churches the run up to confirmation usually involves a few deep talks and examinations of conscience. Having watched the oldest son's testimony, I feel like he may well have discussed what's going on at home.

It could have been part of evidence collected during the preliminary investigation by CPS. I'm sure Nick is well known enough around town as being a big shot Youtuber. The Appealstream blew up all over Twitter, I really wouldn't be surprised if it was heard by someone at CPS or law enforcement.

Typically CPS does an in-person investigation before the kids are taken away. The fact that they were arrested so early in the morning tells me that if there were any conversations with CPS that morning, they were rather short, and that they already had enough evidence to remove the kids from the home.

"shall immediately report the information to the local welfare agency, agency responsible for assessing or investigating the report, police department, county sheriff, tribal social services agency, or tribal police department" is the text of the statute. Others in the thread have suggested there's some protocol as to who reports to which and why but it's not a matter of written law as far as I can see. Maybe jurisprudence or just a body of common knowledge within the relevant professions?

I don't have a rough page, but they met around the beginning of the year at the stand up event Chrissie Mayr was organizing before her father was murdered. It was in Jan or Feb iirc.
