even just with the appeals he's spent tens of thousands of dollars, and this lawyer has sucked shit at every turn. if you needed proof that there's a competency crisis in every sector of america, hopefully balldo and his 100,000 an hour megalawyer, along with the drastic dumbfuck overconfidence of ty beard and co, teaches you. even the lawyers, even the big-nosed scumsuckers are absolutely retarded at their own jobs. not to mention rackets' ego, which would never ever allow him to concede he was wrong or admit defeat in such a conciliatory way.
 
When this lawsuit was first starting up, I remember someone saying that Nick probably chose Randazza for this because he is some sort of e-famous personality lawyer type and that this was an opening for Nick to befriend/talk to him and get in that circle, or something similar. And others speculated that perhaps Randazza quoted him a kind of "fuck off" price and Nick took it anyway?

That's a really good strategy not just legally, but for life. Nick can't stop winning!!

Again, Nick is a disingenuous faggot because, in many respects, he's saying the exact opposite of things he stressed in the Vic case. He knows you don't have to show damages with defamation per se. They are presumed. That's what the per se means.

The IIED stuff is shakey, but the statement Nick said about Monty is pretty clear. He's in trouble on that one.

This is almost certainly not the case. At the very least, Rekieta himself can be expected to be deposed.

This could be fun because although I'm not sure, I believe that either party can decide to make a deposition public, though this probably depends on jurisdiction and the content of the deposition. I haven't looked up whether this is allowed in Minnesota, but Rekieta himself covered a bunch of the depositions in the Vic case, and I've seen a lot of other depositions in other cases being made public.

After discovery, then it goes on to trial. The district judge in her opinion basically said that the defamation case is already strong enough to proceed to trial, and it's only the IIED claims which are likely to fail at the summary judgment stage after discovery.

I just watched American Beauty last night and I'm pretty sure Nick is trying to emulate Lester and just do whatever he wants while everything burns to the ground around him when the actual point of the movie was about how becoming apathetic to the people and things you used to care about just because you hit a rough patch isn't sustainable and it's how you lose everything.
