I THINK it's just one of of those Jurassic Park raptor masks Hasbro released, but repainted a different color. For reference, here's the original mask:

They're somewhat infamous among furries because, for some reason, many newer furries and teenagers enjoy painting these masks and attaching various decorations to create inexpensive fursuit heads. I suppose the appeal lies in the fact that the mask costs only about $40, whereas most fursuit head bases can easily exceed three digits. However, I have yet to see a repainted raptor mask that looks good.

I'm not sure if I believe all of the claims either. I think you're right, if there were roving furfags biting kids and scrapping, we'd probably have videos. Even if the school banned cellphones, most kids aren't going to listen, especially if they have like summer jobs and bought them themselves. I'd like to think we'd have videos, unless the kids are being content hoarders and just sharing it over whatever apps they use now.

Same, but I haven't been in public school since the early 2000s, so it might have changed. At least in the schools I went to in leafland there were no baggy pants for guys, no spaghetti straps or tube tops for girls and there were a plethora of rules about accessories. Did they just stop doing dress codes? Also if anyone wore furry shit at any of the schools I went to, they would have been ripped on mercilessly.

Yeah, that strikes me as odd too. If the kids are legit biting each other, don't most schools have zero tolerance violence policies? Who knows, the kids might be exaggerating or the teachers might be spineless to enact policies on 'genderspechulls'

Very true, but what's the racial breakdown of the furry phenomenon? Wide majority white I'd guess, even measured per-capita. Perhaps the lax policies created downstream of disparate-impact have metastasized into more general disorder? Personally I can totally believe that kids are acting up in this way; the internet is realer than real —especially for an outcast.

I've seen a few commentary channels that picked up the story (but the videos seem to vanish off YT, as soon as they go up), but searching his username ("CandyCoatedSqueaks") turns up no results on KF. I usually pay zero attention to furry drama, but this seems like relatively big news (or is furry death-by-gooning pretty routine?)- Kinda surprised it doesn't already have a thread.

For years furries have claimed "it's not sexual!" and that rumors of refashioning stuffed animals into fleshlights and fursuit orgies were largely the fantasy of deranged minds. I'm not sure when the act was dropped, but it was definitely within the last 15 years I'd say.

I would have to agree that the Internet and the real world have been intersecting in more ways than ever, it's what makes Clown World what it is, but it's weird when they stick up for some outcasts and not others, and if they do, they're not real outcasts. There's going to be that weird kid who everyone thinks is going to be the next school shooter when in reality he just wants a hug and a dad who loves him, no one's paving paths for him.
