Shock as cockroach is found trapped in woman’s vagina after she felt something ‘extremely strange’ down there

DOCTORS were left stunned after they discovered a cockroach in a woman's vagina.

The unnamed patient showed up at the clinic in Honduras, Central America, complaining of feeling "extremely restless, agitated and sweaty".

She had been unable to sleep the previous night because she felt like something "extremely strange" was trapped in her vagina.

On examination, the team from Tegucigalpa, the country's capital, found the dead critter inside her.

Dr Marco Cálix, a gynaecologist at Hospital y Clinicas Viera who looked after the patient, said he had "never seen anything like it".

Recalling the event, he said: "[The woman] said she had something unusual in her vagina.

"When I introduced the speculum, I could see that it was an insect.

"In fact, I had to remove something like a cockroach."

A speculum is a piece of equipment used by medics to see inside parts of the body, such as a vagina.

It was unclear how the cockroach got into the woman's body or how long it had been there.

The specialist said it is very common to find condoms and sex toys during vaginal exams, but discovering a cockroach was a "whole other level".

It's not uncommon for insects to get stuck inside people - and roaches tend to be the worst offenders.

But this is normally in areas such as the ears.

In a period of two years, a South African hospital pulled 24 critters out of people’s ears, a 2006 study revealed.

Ten were German cockroaches, followed by eight flies, three beetles, a tick, an assassin bug, and a badly mangled moth.

In October, doctors shared a terrifying cliprevealing the moment they discovered a spider in a woman's ear.

Warning signs

Insects that get into the body can be dangerous because they could scratch sensitive tissue, such as in the vagina or ear, triggering an infection.

Warning signs of problems include pain or swelling at the affected site.

Dr Marco said signs of infection of the vagina can include abnormal or foul-smelling discharge, bleeding, swelling or a rash.

He advised women to always consult with their doctor if in any doubt.

The bizarre things gynaecologists have found in vaginas

Doctors revealed the full list of baffling items found in vaginas in 2017.

The list was compiled using the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's database of emergency room visits in the US.

Some escaped the year without injury, and others weren't so lucky.

Here it is in full, technicolour detail:
  • Scented soap
  • Deodorant cap
  • Bottle cap
  • Penis ring with spikes on
  • Silicon balls
  • A ball
  • Bike reflector
  • A sponge (the patient said she was on her period and inserted a sponge into the vagina so she could swim. This isn’t wise – use a tampon or menstrual cup instead)
  • Headphones
  • A hot towel
  • A phone and money (the patient was having sex with her boyfriend when he put a phone and cash into her vagina)
  • Clay
  • A candlestick
  • A lollipop
  • 15 stone balls (the patient was using urethral vaginal stone balls, the string holding the balls together dissolved, and she could only retrieve 14 balls)
  • A toy wand

I was like "What a shocking story!" until this part, then it wasn't surprising at all.

Headphones
"Where's that music coming from?"

A phone and money (the patient was having sex with her boyfriend when he put a phone and cash into her vagina)
"Can someone call my phone? I forget where I left it."

Do roaches really have enough strength to force themselves into a closed, dry vagina? Vagina ain't sopping when it's not aroused so it takes quite a bit of force to climb into a canal like that. Roaches can live 45 min without air. She had this thing inside of her for 45 minutes and didn't think what the fuck for those 45 minutes? This sounds sussy. Likely she stuck it up there and freaked out when it crawled further in than she could reach.
